Week 59: sickness, work, sickness (again)

สวัสดี ครับ บบบบ
So this week was way good. During our district council meeting, President Hammond joined in and it was a great insight into helping others come unto Christ. Especially in finding LA's and helping them regain their testimony. President Hammond is such a loving man, but he also has a sense of humor. I've never had a more fun district council then with him. It was super fun!

We had some way good meetings with โอ๊ต and แก้ว trying to help them get ready for baptism. โอ๊ต is super good and he is soooo faithful. He was able to talk to his family about becoming Christian, and a miracle occurred! They were all chill with it! They said he was an adult and could make his own decisions, which doesn't always happen here, cause alot of the times the parents get a bit scared off from their kids changing away from the Buddhist tradition. But, they were all fine with it, and โอ๊ต. Elder Ryberg and I were also super happy there wouldn't be any contention or problems in the family from โอ๊ต's conversion.

We also taught sister แก้ว a few times, and although she had some doubts and fears, and Thai is her third language so she doesn't understand everything, she understands one thing: when she prayed about this church, she got an answer from God that this was the true church. So far she has done a really good job of sticking to that answer. Her answer came to her so strong tho, and she got so surprised by that answer, she confesses to us that she hasn't prayed like that since then because she's scared of getting such a powerful feeling like that again. She said she would pray for scriptural understanding, and during our appointments, but never had she prayed for an answer like that again. 555 we talked to her tho and said she needs to pray like that always, so she can always have that guiding feeling with her. She said she would after that. We are super excited for her.

Besides that, we found a bunch of really awesome potential investigators, who were family men, and we are excited to follow up with them next week.

Also, on Tuesday Elder Ryberg got sick, and he was a champ. Worked through it all week, with the help of some Tylenol and Mucinex. Then, on Sunday morning, I got sick! The same thing! But luckily we had planned with President to drive us around to all our appointments that day, so luckily I didn't have to be on a bike all day. It was good.

This week, I learned alot about just being yourself. Being loose and loving and kind to everyone, and about being genuine while doing so. Showing genuine kindness and love to others can be hard sometimes, but we can ask for the gifts of genuineness in prayer and God can help us receive it. We can be kind to others, and have a kindness that will stick, just like this verse says,
"For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee." (3 Nephi 22:10).

We can have kindness so real and genuine, that it will never leave that other person. If we give a genuine smile to someone who is having a hard time, that smile will stick with them, and that kindness "Shall not depart". So this week, try to pray for someone you can give some genuine kindness to, and give it to them! It can be in a small simple way, it can be big. Just be genuine! And I'll do the same this week.

Keep being awesome! Have a great week!
