So, Tuesday was normal. But. Wednesday, we found a bunch of way cool people. We even found two different people who took lessons with the missionaries about 10 years ago, and they are wanting and interested in going to church again! One is a guy who works on and fixes computers and tvs, the other is just a lady who works at her own home restaurant. Such a miracle! We taught the lady a little bit. She's way cool (maybe a little crazy idk we'll figure out next week). And the guy who works on computers is so smart. We taught him and discussed the restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ with him for a long time. We originally were only going to teach him a short 20 minute lesson, but we ended up staying there for around 45 minutes, maybe even longer. He had so many good questions, because he use to be catholic, but he went back to Buddhism because he didn't like Catholicism. It was different and a lot of fun teaching a smart guy with a decent Christian background.
Also, on Friday we did switch offs and I was able to switch off at Nong Khai with Elder Guanzon from the Phillipines! He's a way cool guy! And Nong Khai is such a cool area! Its actually bordering Laos, so I was able to go to the border and look into Laos. Nong Khai was also way cool cause it's super small, and so green! The highways there are almost deserted at times, and there's fields of trees and fields of rice all over. Way different than Udon, and insanely different from Bangkhen. And the church in Nong Khai is so pretty small. From the outside it looks like an old garage almost, but the inside is actually pretty nice.
On Sunday, we had 3 appointments with investigators, but they all canceled on us or weren't there. So, we were bummed and had a lot of time to spare. So, we decided to go and try to find some less active members. So, we went out to try to find this guy, but as we were biking we met with an old member lady by coincidence. We only vaguely knew she lived in the area, but by coincidence we drove by her house and saw her and chatted with her. As we chatted, she talked about these two friends of hers she has been talking to about the gospel with. She asked if we'd be willing to teach them this coming week, and of course we were like heck yeah! She said her friends have been asking way good questions about the church, and they and their families even are way willing to learn. It just goes to show you, sometimes when things seem to go wrong, it's actually ok! Cause Heavenly Father knows all, so just trust in Him and He'll lead you to where you need to go, and He'll bless you with happiness, success, all the good stuff.
This week, was honestly a really good week. But there were some points this week where we were confused and we had to rely a lot on God helping us. And, God helps us and communicates with us through the Holy Ghost. Jesus talks a little bit about the Holy Ghost in John 14:26-27.
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Through the Holy Ghost, we are able to be taught things, remember things, and have heavenly peace. One of the best ways to have the Holy Ghost with us is to pray and ask God for the Holy Ghost. If we ever need to peace, guidance, or direction in our lives, big or small, we can pray for it and ask God for the Holy Ghost to be with us to help us. I know if we do so, God will send us comfort and guidance through the Holy Ghost. All we have to do is ask :) Mathew 7:7.
