สวัสดีครับ!
Hello everyone! This week was awesome! Little summary: I ate squid, jellyfish, and shrimp eggs this week yum!
I got the worst diarrhea ever this week. But that has gotten better so that's good.
I went on two switch offs this week. One with the Zone leader and one with Elder Smith in my district. When I went with my zone leader, we went on bikes for a good part of the day! I miss riding bikes, even though the bike I was on didn't have good brakes and each gear was rough, it was still really fun. It would have been more fun if I didn't have diarrhea but all is well. We talked with a guy who got the smoker surgery where they put a hole in your neck about 8 months ago, and it was a very interesting experience teaching him. Hopefully, he'll keep progressing physically and spiritually, because he had an awesome spirit about him and seemed very interested. The doctors say he'll make a full recovery.
The switch off with Elder Smith was also awesome. At the end of the day, we did our sketch off review at the top of our building (pictures to come) it was way cool.
One awesome miracle that happened this week was when I was switched off with Elder Smith, we were on a bus and a guy sat next to me. I started to talk to him, and eventually I told him I was a missionary and I shared a bit of my testimony with him and gave him an inviting card. Before we had to get off the bus, he had read the entire thing, so I was like hey maybe he's interested. So, I asked if I could get his phone number so we could teach him some more another day, and he said yes and gave me his number! Way cool! Now, the coolest thing was it was in Thai and I could understand alot of what he was saying. Although we were both using really simple vocab, it was nice to be able to feel some improvement in my understanding ability. Hopefully we will be able to meet with that guy again soon!
With that, I read over this scripture this week in Alma 38:5
And now my son... I would that ye should remember, that as much as ye shall put your trust in God even so much ye shall be delivered out of your trials, and your troubles, and your afflictions, and ye shall be lifted up at the last day.
I love this scripture because this is totally how I've felt the last 5 ish weeks I've been here. I've been troubled and afflicted with this darn language thing, but I've put my trust in God, knowing that He will help me get it in the end. Heavenly Father's power is great. He is real. I know that with all my heart, and if anyone puts their true trust in Him, He will help them them through any trial or problem in their lives.
Have a great week everyone!
