Missionary Training Center

Elder Foy

Las adventuras de Elder Baker

Hola everyone!!!!
This Email comes from the distant land of Provo, Utah :)
The CCM (MTC) has been so crazy, but so amazing! Its been an adjustment for sure, but I'm glad to be here! My companion is Elder Foy. Me and him met earlier this summer, it was such a tender mercy that we ended up as companions. I've seen quite a few of my friends here, pretty odd to call them Elder and Sister now, but no complaints! Its so great to see all of my good friends from home, and make new ones here in the CCM. There's 14 of us in my district, all Elders. We get along so well, and I'm blessed to be a part of it! We spend a lot of our day in our spanish classes. Its been wonderful to see the Lords hand work in our lives to help us learn Spanish and become better missionaries. In just a few short days here, i've learned so much. I pray in spanish, write in spanish, read my scriptures in spanish, and our whole district has started to speak only in spanish! The gift of tongues is so real, if we have faith and are willing to go out of our comfort zones to try to speak it always, the Lord does the rest. This place is so wonderful and i'm so grateful to be here taking part in the gathering of Israel. Being a missionary has changed my life already. I'm loving every second of it.
I'll end with a funny story. There's 4 of us in my room, and its really good because there's usually supposed to be 6. Its usually really quiet there compared to the others. However, last night was different. We all fell asleep around 11:00 last night, and at around 12:45, we all woke up the the loudest scream, and it came from our room. I'm not talking about somebody yelling at someone in the hall, it was a bloodcurling scream from the top of somebodys lungs. We all were SO scared. Elder McKendrick ran to the door to see what had happened, and nobody really knew. We tried to find out what happened, nobody knew who did it (not me i promise) but it's still a mystery even now. Strange stuff happens around here, but it keeps life interesting!

I hope you all are doing well! I'd love to hear from you all! I can read Emails anytime, but I can only respond on Saturdays, i'll try to get back to you all whenever I have time!

Overall, the CCM is amazing. I love everything about it, and I've learned so much. Life is good, and i'm so grateful to be a missionary.

Talk to you all soon! Please Email!!
Con Mucho Amor,
Elder Baker
