Wow! What a wonderful week! I have been so blessed and touched by the things I have experienced this past week. Isn't it a miracle to experience this life? It isn't every moment that seems to be filled with excitement or even success, but aren't even those moments grand in our eternal progression? I marvel at how simple of a week I have experienced when I compare it to what I have learned about myself. You know what I learned? I need to improve!! I love how every passing moment (when we look through the right lens) invites us to step up and follow the path of The Savior.
I've been listening to a song when I am in the apartment called: "I Love The Lord". The words are based off of Nephi's poetic words written in 2 Nephi 4 as he laments the weakness of his flesh. The awe inspiring words are sung to the music of the hymn: "Be still my Soul". It has drawn me to reflect upon my own love for The Lord. Do I really love Him or do I just say those words in my prayers at the end of the day? Do I truly recognize Him for what He does to change my very nature every day? The truth of the matter is: We all need to love Him MORE! When we do love Him everything else will fall into it's place.
One of the ways that I plan to deepen my love for The Savior is to deepen my understanding of His Atoning sacrifice. Bruce R. McKonkie invited us at the end of his life to join with him in gaining a deeper and more sure understanding of The Atonement of Jesus Christ. How do we do it? Prayer. Study. Pondering. Prayer again. Writing. This is the revealed pattern of revelation given to us by so many ancient and modern prophets. I invite each of you to join with me in seeking revelation pertaining to the most essential doctrine to our individual salvation: The Doctrine of The Atonement of Jesus Christ. Without this singular miraculous event, all other doctrines would be lifeless and without hope. Let us delve into the depth of what our Master has truly done for us. Let's find out the why of the Atonement and learn how it can change our lives.
I am SO excited to start studying this more effectively this week! I love all of you, and I pray this activity will bless each of us.
