Elder Cook

Week 75 Baptism for Rita, Lawrence, and Adwoa

Hi there,

Well we had a rough couple of days. Cook and I were pretty upset we were leaving each other. I think I was more upset I was getting someone new and Cook was going to be with Williams.

We had a good time at district council Tuesday though. My district was way close with each other so we all had a party. Every companionship in my district changed. The sisters prepared a cake for Cook for his birthday and then we played cards for a little while.

Wednesday we waited for like 4 hours, I swear, for all the people to get to the chapel for transfers. No one can be alone so it’s just easier for all of us to stay at the chapel and wait for the people to come. The rest of the day we just got settled in and then went and met with bishop at the chapel.

Thursday was alright. We went around and sawa lot of people. We went around introducing my new companion Elder Chrysler to members. We had a few interviews I had to do for the zone leaders and they came and did the interviewsw for Nana's family. They passed! We had there baptism on Saturday. It was awesome!! We were able to talk Nana into doing the baptisms! It was so cool to see him do it! He messed up a lot and everyone was pressuring him so he kept messing up but he was able to get it done.

Then on Sunday we confirmed them. It was cool! They all looked so happy and all week we kept telling Nana how cool it was. Everyone at the baptism and at church on Sunday was telling us how good of a job we are doing. It was kind of cool because I have been feeling like this area has been hard. I guess we made it so a whole family has the gospel now. It was cool.

Today we went and saw Akpene. She isn't doing good. She has something wrong with her lungs and she kept having these attacks while we were there. It was scary but we gave her a blessing and she calmed down. I hope she gets better though.
love you all,

Elder Orton
