Week 64- baptism of Stephen

Hi everyone,

Well, this week I don't really remember too much. It was kind of long but we made it through it. I'm glad calves are starting to hit the ground. That means it's the best time of the year already. Thankfully once this calving season is over I’ll be home for the next!

We had a normal week. We had district council on Tuesday and I might have to go on strike or something. I’m sick of trying to have a discussion and ask questions and everyone just sits and stares at me. I guess I’ll just have to start making them teach the discussions. We had interviews with president on Thursday and I got chastised for calling people outside of my zone and for texting too much. I also asked about coming home before school starts and he chastised me for that too so it was a good interview with president I guess. It made me real motivated... The rest of the day it rained like cats and dogs. It was insane! Probably one of the top 3 worst storms I’ve experienced. It was like a hurricane.

Saturday we had Stephen’s baptism. There were so many members that came and supported him. My old companion Elder Takavingofa came down from Aburi and was the one who baptized him. When he came up he hugged Takavingofa and started crying and when he came back in the room after changing he had the biggest smile on his face and was so happy! Then when we confirmed him he said that he has never felt like that before and kept saying how cool it felt. I'm happy we were able to make it such a good experience for him. I can honestly say he was probably the most prepared that I have baptized.

I've had a cold all week since it’s dry season here now. I don't know how you can get a cold in this dang heat but it sucks. My lungs hurt and I have the dry cough going on. It’s getting better slowly so hopefully I'm alright in the next few days.
In my apartment we’re having a competition this week to see who can get the most amount of new people. The other Elders aren't doing very good and president asked me to try and help them so we’ll see if this will help.

That's all. I hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving. Please remember me while your eating that nice dinner!

Love you all,
Elder Orton

Here's a picture of a swastika I found on a building along with some baptism pictures.
