Elder Takavingofa

Week 54 emergency transfer

Well this week was a heck of a week!! Tuesday we had a dang good district council! We talked about the plan of salvation and how we can teach it better. It was really good and I was happy I chose to talk about it. Then we went to Akpene's shop and saw a couple of people. About 9 pm I got a call from President Keyes and he said I needed to pack my stuff and be to Tema (a town a few hours away) by 2 pm the next day... I called Akpene insantly and went and talked with them till like 11pm. I then stayed up till 2 am packing my things. It was crazy! They needed me to replace an Elder who was going home. I went to my new area with the Carlquists and settled in. My new companion is Elder Takavingofa (read it slow its not that hard; it just looks hard!) He is from Zimbabwe. He is fetchin funny!! These past few days we have just been going around seeing the area. This area reminds me of Akuse when I first got there. Not much going on with the missionaries. They haven’t been teaching lessons or baptizing many for a while. I guess I'm gonna have to build up the members and then hopefully start picking up the work. I’m excited for the challenge! This week I'm gonna try hard to get it up and going. It will take a while though. My apartment has been fun! I'm in a 4 man apartment now so it is nice to come home and have someone to talk to instead of just my companion . We all cook dinner together too. I'm sure it will be fun! I don't really know what else to say. It was kind of a busy week haha.

Love you all,
Elder Orton

The food in this picture is waakye. (watch-ay.) They put it in a leaf then you put it in a bowl. It’s kind of cool I guess. It’s so good! They cook beans and rice together. There are also pictures of me and my new companion, a dog I saw and me with the District leaders in my old area, Akuse.
