Week 32: Sakura and service

We did a lot of things this week.

It's hard to tell if I'm getting better at shogi, because Kurogi choro is improving at the same rate as I am now. Every game ends with me 2 moves away from checkmating him, but he's just one step ahead!

Yesterday we had one of the sweetest moments on my mission. We got a phone call from a really nice older Japanese lady in a wheelchair. She knew that we were volunteers and wanted some help going out to see the Sakura up the street from her house. So, we came over to help her outside. I got to gently push her in her wheelchair up a pretty large hill as we looked at the beautiful view and talked with her. It was maybe a thirty minute walk, during which we were able to talk to her about eternal families and temples. She kinda almost cried, and maybe I did too... It wasn't a large extravagant miracle, but it was a lovely experience and reminded me that the work of the Lord is really kindness and love.

Welp, that's it for this week's email. I'll include more details next week.

God bless.
All the best.
Ttyl, in a bit!

With best regards,
Bayless choro
