How's it going? This week was great as any other one! We got transfer news yesterday, I am staying with Elder Wallin in this area! I get to "kill him off" as missionaries say. Which means, I get to be his companion for his last transfer. He will be going home at the end of this transfer, so next transfer will be an adventure :) I think I will be in this area for at least 2 more transfers because they usually don't whitewash zone leaders. I have been here for awhile now. I am really getting to know the people and area well. I love it. I think I have been here for 4 and a half months or something like that, I don't know haha. It is crazy to think that I am almost at 10 months now. I'll hit my year mark in 2 transfers. What even happened to time? 😜
Anyways, shout out to my MTC district. I have been thinking about you guys a lot this last week. Love you all!
Funny story, it seems Elder Kropf, who was in my MTC district, sent a referral to the sisters in my district. They told me a couple of days ago that he says hi and I was so confused for a second. I guess they have communicated back and forth a little about this referral, so that is cool haha.
You may be wondering why the heck my subject line says Happy Thanksgiving. It is only because we ate Thanksgiving dinner for lunch on Wednesday. The senior missionary couple in my district makes lunch for us every Wednesday after district meeting. They are going home in a couple of weeks because they are finishing their mission. So they told us we could request any meals we wanted for the next couple of weeks. Sister Lewis really likes Thanksgiving dinner, so she asked if they could make that for us, and they did. The Espinozas (the senior couple) love us, so they went all out and decorated their whole apartment to be like Thanksgiving, haha. The food was delicious too. They are pretty much like our adopted grandparents, and I hope to be able to visit them someday in Washington.
Cool little experience about prayer I wanted to share, but forgot. A couple of weeks ago I had said a very specific prayer asking for Heavenly Father to send someone ready for the Gospel to a sister companionship in my district. That Sunday someone showed up at church out of nowhere for the sisters to teach. So Heavenly Father
definitely answers specific prayers if they are righteous desires. I have been finding that the spirit gives you things to pray for when you really listen as you pray.
We have a sports night every Friday night at 7:00 at our church building and it is way fun to hang out with the youth of our ward and branch. It is nice to have a place to invite investigators to. We have quite a few nonmembers show up to it. It is great. We play soccer and basketball usually, and this last week we played human Foosball. It was great haha. Sister Ruud got hit in the head really hard by a soccer ball though, I guess she got a concussion which stinks. Sometimes sports night gets a little heated. We are going to say something about it this next Friday :)
Anyways, I got to see my first monsoon this week. It was insane. Trees were knocked over and traffic got crazy. We were outside for about 5 seconds and got soaked. I have never seen so much water fall out of the sky in my whole life. The roads turned into lakes and rivers. The sisters who got videos of it aren't here so I can't get the pictures or videos from them :( Oh that reminds me, one of the sisters (Sister Smith) in our district went home this last week. So that was sad. She was a great missionary and fulfilled her purpose to the best of her ability. The other sisters have been in a trio and will be till tomorrow. Sister Lewis is getting transferred to Scottsdale, which is sad. She has become one of my good friends. Anyways, Sister Fairbourne and Knudsen are going to be companions now. Their areas got combined, which will be interesting. Both of them are also wonderful missionaries. I am excited for this transfer. Should be great.
I think that is about all I have to say for this week. I love you all! Talk to you later :)
