WHAT?!?!?!?!

Alright... I am going to get the crazy news out of the way.....
Last night at 10:20 I got a call from President Mendenhall.. telling me I was getting sent home... just kidding
But I did get a call.. President asked me to be a Zone Leader.... so needless to say I didnt sleep very much last night.

Then today I log into to look at what transfers look like... I am going up to Boulder!!! But the greatest news.......... are you ready for it?

wait for it...

My companion is Elder LAYTON!!!!!! My first trainer!

What a CRAZY TWIST!

So this is going to be super exciting. We will be serving in the YSA ward up in Boulder and I am excited about that! It was definitely not the transfer that I was expecting but if I have to leave Ponderosa ward, this is the best possible outcome. I am excited to be up in Boulder but more excited to serve with Elder Layton again!

Other than that, this past week has been a really good one! We had some GREAT lessons with both Becca and Wes. Both are progressing really well! Becca is becoming friends with all the woman in the ward her age and they are really helping with lessons. She is starting to understand the importance of faith and has a desire to get an answer for herself! We had a great church tour with her and she definitely felt the spirit and wanted more.

We also had dropped Wes but the guy came back from the dead! He started researching on his own and when we saw him he asked us to teach him and was the least argumentative he has ever been. And that has kept going every time we have seen him since then. So we are hoping we can help him progress towards making big steps to change some of his ways!

Other exciting news, Cheryl came to church! And not only that.. but she LOVED it! Her son and daughter in law are active members up in Aurora and they came down to come to church as well which helped out a TON to have such good support there. They brought a special treat with for me when they brought Austin NEELEY! What a surprise that was for me to see him. It was a nice little treat! So we are really hoping that Cheryl will continue to come to church and hopefully her husband will join as well. We have a few really good fellow shippers for them which will also make a huge impact.

Overall it has been really cool to see the way this Ward has grown in the last 3 months. Especially this last transfer with Elder Heiner! I am so excited to see the way it will continue to grow! Elder Heiner was really nervous when he found out I was leaving but I told him he didn’t need to be. That the reason he was staying was The Lord trusted him, and I know he will rise to the challenge!

I am sad to be leaving, but serving a mission is about going and doing whatever The Lord asks us to do. It really is quite simple, we just follow Him.
I am so grateful for this new opportunity to learn and serve in a different area and look forward to all the people I will be able to meet up there.

Elder Richards
