Things are going well here in Salone. Still getting some rain every few days or so. The rainy season is beginning to end, so dry season here I come!.....Oh boy 😒
Weekly Question: We have noticed that you do not use last names when saying “Brother” or “Sister” but you use first names. Is that common there? Is that what everyone does?
Weekly Answer: Yes, that tends to happen. You'll still call them "brother" or "sister", but sometimes their first names are used more. It depends on the person usually.
The week -
Well, we are slowing having more investigators to meet, but it's going pretty well also with the ones we currently have. Brother Michael and Brother Jesse are doing well. We've taught them the Word of Wisdom and Law of Chastity this week. They had a small issue with no coffee or tea, but that is a common occurrence and they still committed to live by the Word of Wisdom. Brother Kamara is also doing great.
School has started here again, but it luckily doesn't mess with our usual meeting times since school is already out before 3:00.
New Investigators -
Brother Phillip - He had attended Tengbeh Town Ward and had different questions in investigators class such as The Apostasy and Restoration. The Elders gave us his info since he's in our area, so we're going to start meeting with him this week.
Brother Simeon -
He was a referral from another set of Elders. We had a bit of a hard time trying to find his place. We got his address and when we told the taxi driver he ended up taking us way out to the edge of our area before asking, "What is the place called again?" We told him and he said that we passed it several miles back. Ugh. And the place we ended up reaching was not nearly as far as what people said. Anyway, we met Brother Simeon and started the message of the Restoration. We sadly couldn't stay long, but we will see him again this week.
Other Story -
So, on Wednesday we decided to try some door-knocking (or gate-knocking in this case). None were really successful, but one woman did take some time to talk to us. Sadly, it wasn't a pleasant discussion. She told us how she doesn't respect the church and doesn't believe we are Christians. We wanted to try and help her understand that we believe in God the Eternal Father and in His Son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost, but she said what she wanted too and closed the gate. Maybe some time we can run into her again and talk some more.
Next Sunday is our Ward Conference and my companion and I decided to join the choir for practice of a couple of special numbers. We look forward to this coming weekend.
Not much else for this week really. I look forward to the Ward Conference on Sunday and working more with our new investigators. Have a great week Everyone and work hard! I love you sooooo much!!!
