tombas

This week we baptized a man from Cuba, he lives in the tombas. Tombas are shanty towns made from anything the people can find on the sides of the road. The homes are mainly cardboard and scraps of metal. They hook into the cities power lines for electricity. The government doesn't do anything about it for several years and then they will come in and bulldoze it over. The people just move to another area and start all over. It is really sad to see, there are a lot of good people that live in these circumstances.
We had a zone conference with the Western South America Area authority, he spoke for like five hours straight. It was the most boring conference I have ever been to, it took all of my will to stay awake. I am sure there were some good things shared in it.
Hope you all have a great week.
