This week started off with a miracle. So last Sunday our stake fasted for rain, and instead a huge wildfire broke out. It got worse on Monday, but when went outside Tuesday morning, it was freezing cold and snowing in the mountains. The air was perfectly clear and the fire was mostly out. The Lord hears our prayers. That being said, yesterday (also Sunday, weird..) another massive fire started right behind this huge neighborhood. We honestly thought we might get evacuated, but they ended up putting it out fast so we're all safe. Just a crazy time, pray for California and Oregon, it's much worse out there.
In other fun news, our engine started making funny noises so we had to go to Provo to get it fixed. I drove by my brother's room at BYU and also ran into my cousin who works there. That was a fun time. We also got pretty much pushed into a polynesian party, complete with the pig on the table and everything. Love Utah. Today we took a trip to a dairy farm where they milk the cows and we got to see a cow be born. That was...interesting for sure. But I did meet some people from Huancayo, Peru which is where I was at, so that was incredible! He said if we come over he'll make some Peruvian food so you already know.
We had another car wash this week. It was good but not as busy as the last one. One of the things we still can't do here is knock on doors, but the interesting loophole is that if a member comes with us they can knock on it for us. We've set up a night with each ward and now we go out 4 nights a week to meet people. It's been super great and if feels good to be able to work more like normal. There was also a stake council meeting about missionary and I felt prompted to share some ideas I'd seen work in other areas about how the members and missionaries can work better together. It went super well.
In my interview with our mission President, I had a cool experience I wanted to share. As I was sitting there talking to him, I had a feeling that the words he was speaking to me were coming directly from God, and he was merely the mouthpiece for Him. I felt Gid tell me He loved me and was proud of me. I had a similar experience right before I submitted my mission papers in my interview with the bishop. Both experiences have testified to me that God does talk to us, He just does it in His own time and His way, we just have to be looking for how we can hear Him. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
