A Mothers Farewell

Jeni Blanchard says:
Joseph left on his mission today. I can remember the minutes, days and hours after he was born and I couldn't imagine at that time ever letting him go, but in spite of the chaos of the last few months we found a perfect peace and the way was parted for him to go. It is certainly bitter sweet after so many years of expecting that he would always be there. I think of Hannah turning her son Samuel over to the service of the Lord. I know that Joseph will leave a boy but he is in the protective care of many fine men and our dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who is the perfecter of all. The Lord will refine this young boy into a man in the absence of his own father and he will gain many choice things that I cannot provide him as his mother. What better place to put him at this time than in the loving arms of his Father in Heaven to finish what James was not able to do. He joins God's Army and I feel so proud to have him unite with such a select group of saints who are willing to give their lives over to the service of something better than themselves. I am so proud. Farewell my boy, may you remain ever faithful. Love, Mom
