I'm in Africa. And I love Africa. You should all come here and I'll make you some powerful fufu or emotuo :) This week was good and we are seeing miracles here. The first miracle is that it's been cold enough twice this week that I had to get under a sheet when I slept and turn off my fan. It was strange but wonderful. The rest of the miracles came on Sunday when our district (2 companionships) had 11 investigators come to church. Miracles do happen, but only on conditions of our faith and obedience. Right now with me and my companionship are teaching a young girl named Grace who should be baptized in the coming month or two, and she reminds me a lot of my sister Shea. I told her that my brother Dayne will come and marry her (Dayne you better follow up on that), so hopefully you'll all meet her some day at the marriage!
For a fun story of the week, me and my companion met a drunk immigration officer who was demanding to see our citizenship records. It was a bit scary at first, then we realized he was drunk and completely not serious so we ended up having a nice 30 minute talk with him and his friends and ended up leaving him with a word of wisdom pamphlet.
This week I want to share some thoughts about the sacrament because of a lesson we had this past week with a man who was a little stubborn about we shared with him. D&C 20:2 says that it doesn't matter what we eat or drink for the sacrament as long as we take the emblems "with an eye single to my glory---remembering unto the Father my boy which was laid down for you, and my blood which was shed for the remission of your sins." Remember what Christ did for YOU. His sacrifice is personal to each one of us. He loves you no matter who you are or what you've done. His invitation to you is to "Come, follow me." Follow the Savior and remember Him always, especially as you take the sacrament each week. If there's things you need to change so you can follow Christ, please change. I promise the blessings of following Christ are worth more than anything you could give up or change to follow Him.
