Bonners Ferry

Elder Robert Young

Bonners Ferry week 23- up in the Idaho panhandle

I don't know what's happening but my language has turned into some weird mix of North Idaho'n and Southern (due to Elder Young). I got caught this morning saying "how old is him?" Also the temperatures have been super weird, on Saturday it was almost in the 50's and last night we were hitting singles!

This last week has been super busy and great! We are as a ward member said "doing things that have never been done here before”. But before the wonderful things could happen, hard days had to come to try our faith, but I remembered from freshman year of seminary with Bro. Gordon memorizing "pray always that ye may come off conquer!”

Being able to wrestle has been so good for the work up here in Bonners and for me as an individual to have something to knock the stress away. I'm very fortunate! At practice this week the coach mentioned that they were having a tournament this week and said "your should come and do your work! (missionary work)." So after permission was granted we went for a few hours on Friday and Saturday and helped score matches and a couple other things! The best part was the team loved that we were there! They came up and were asking not only what I thought about their match but they were very open about church and us to the point that some introduced us to their families and friends that were there!

I had exchanges with Elder Nelson (one of our zone leaders) which was a blast. We had some sweet lessons then had some Cactus Cooler.

One day for service this week we moved sheep from a pen to a barn. When we opened the gate the lambs went insane and bolted. One hit a big patch of ice on the ground and completely wiped out! Then after, we fed the cows and stacked bales.

While tracting, a lady told us we believe in a different Jesus. Then she put her hand over my eyes and said we're blind, then closed the door.

We also got to go to a Community worship service with multiple Christian congregations which was great to grow our relationships in the community, especially with the Pastors who don't like us.

Reagan is doing so good and still has the goal to be baptized next week! Exciting times teaching her and setting things up for her service!
