Hello!
Sorry for the long email, this week was one incredibly Spiritual
experience right after the other. I didn't really proof read it too much,
but just know that God is alive.
I'm going to send picture separately to preserve the spirituality of
this email.
I've had the opportunity to take part in a lot of Priesthood Blessings
in the last few months as a missionary, whether receiving or giving them.
Something that been mentioned in almost every single one, is that there are
angels on the other side that are helping us in our every day lives, in way
more ways than we can know. One individual has angels helping him lift
boxes at work every day. And they are always our ancestors, whether
recently passed away, or distantly passed away. One individual's father
passed away a few months ago, another last year, and both individuals had
their loved one with them helping them in their everyday life, and
administering the Blessing with us. Every time that is mentioned in a
blessing, that their ancestors are here, and they are with them in their
daily life, I can feel the presence of those angels. I can comprehend their
spirits, where they are in the room, the love they have for us and for
their family member on Earth, and the peace they feel. It's incredible.
The new Sister in our District said something this week that struck me.
"The Lord answers more prayers when you're on your feet than when you're
on your knees" -Sister Pullan
I played organ in Sacrament, and piano in both hours of Primary
yesterday.
We were teaching Brooke, and we read 3 Nephi 11 with her, when Jesus
Christ came and ministered to the people in the Americas. The Spirit was so
strong. After the lesson, she told us she felt an angel standing right
behind her the entire time, putting its hands on her shoulders. The Spirit
testified to us that she spake the truth, and she knew that it meant that
this church is Christ's church set up on the Earth.
We're definitely called to serve the people, whether they're members,
investigators, or fellow missionaries. There have been so many experiences
in each of my areas where my companion and I's experiences in life, and our
way of vocalizing them and what we've learned from them, have been able to
specifically touch and help the people people around us, be it a member of
the ward, an investigator, or even the missionaries we are serving around.
We are truly called to the people. This is true when we aren't on our
missions too, for instance, if we're moving and we're praying where to
move, and the Lord tells us a specific place, we are meant to serve the
people in that area. You will be the key to blessing many lives wherever
the Lord sends you.
Sister Young, when she got the transfer call that she was leaving
Aberdeen and going up to Minot, North Dakota, was borderline inconsolable.
She came to love the people here so much in the 7 1/2 months she served
here. We were able to give her a Priesthood Blessing, and in it, she was
told that she, her unique voice and love delivery system to others, was
needed, and only she, out of everyone on every planet that Jesus Christ and
Heavenly Father have created together, only she will be able to bring
specific people in Minot to the Gospel. Super cool, and super true for all
of us.
After that, her companion asked for a blessing. Our testimonies of
angels around us were built further, to put it lightly. Our investigator,
Brooke, after all this, said, "I'm going to tell my Mom I'm going to get
baptized." The smile on her face was genuine, filled with pure joy. The
Spirit was so strong this night.
Being vulnerable and dumping all your crap on people brings you closer
together, my companion and I were in bed talking until like 1 doing so, and
we're so much closer than before. Our District has done that as well, all
just going around telling each other of the garbage we've been through in
our angsty teenage years. It has built us closer together, and made us so
unified. Just letting you know, being vulnerable can build you closer
together with someone. Of course, when you are vulnerable, the other person
can hurt you a lot. If they do that, you don't have to be vulnerable to
that person again.
Love yall.
