Lusaka, Zambia - Matero Ward

Elder Harmon

Week 11 in Matero Ward, Lusaka!

This week was another good one for Elder Harmon and myself. We have continued to see the Lords hand as he continually sends us blessings and people to find, teach, and baptize every week. It really has been a highlight of my mission working in the Matero Ward because we are having a lot of success. The members trust us and give us high quality referrals and it is awesome. Right now every person that we are teaching is either a part-member, or they have a friend who is fellow shipping them. Almost every lesson is considered a member present lesson. It is so amazing. This week we plan to have at least two baptisms with the possibility of a third. We are really praying right now that we can baptize everyone that we have on date. I am just so grateful for the opportunity to be serving where I am. It is making me a very happy missionary!

Recently we baptized a man named Joseph Muluwanda. The day he was baptized his whole family attended church and stayed after to witness the baptism. This week we followed up with the whole family about what they thought about church and they told us that they absolutely loved it! They even told us that they all have a desire to be baptized and join as well. Now we have plans for our recent convert Joseph to baptize his Mother (Martha), Sister (Martha), and Brother (Amos) very soon after Joseph receives the Priesthood. They will all be a powerful addition to the Matero Ward.

Along with all of the good missionary work that is going on, we also were able to move out of our flat this week and now we are living with the other Elders across the street. It is kind of a small flat for 4 Elders, reason being that me and my comp are sleeping on the tile floor in the living room, but we are making the best of it.

As I am now approaching my one year mark soon, it is really making me reflect back on all of the experiences I have had on my mission. I have definitely learned a lot so far and I can't wait for everything that is ahead.

(Also I heard some really good news this week from the Copperbelt. An investigator named Peter Mabaso that I began teaching with Elder Baptista when we were there, was baptized this week. It is awesome to see that missionaries really do plant seeds for other missionaries down the line. The Gospel is true!)

Not many pics this week but enjoy.
Until next week, make it a great one. Sending love from Zambia!
