Lusaka, Zambia - Matero Ward

Elder Olsen

Week 6 in Matero, Lusaka

Hey everyone!

Another great week here in the Great Zambia Lusaka Mission! This week was full of just non stop good times. It was the last week for my companion Elder Olsen so we made sure that we saw as many members, investigators, and friends as possible. It turned out to be kinda bitter sweet to associate with all of the people my companion and myself have become so close with and say goodbyes. But I have to say it was really nice because we ate good food all week! Honestly these past 6 weeks I have only had to cook 2 meals haha it has been great!

Right now I am still waiting to receive news about who will be my next companion but I know I am definitely going to miss Elder Olsen. This week we wrapped up the transfer on a high note for sure. We had two more baptisms this week. One investigator named Brother Besa was finally baptized after over a year of being taught by missionaries. He truly was a miracle. He is the security guard at the chapel so everyone knows him which is a good thing but yeah it was awesome that he started attending church and got baptized and confirmed this week. I was lucky enough to baptize Brother Besa. We also baptized another investigator named Joseph Phiri. He is an amazing individual as well. He was the only member of his family that wasn't baptized yet so we taught him everything he needed to learn and he was well prepared to become the newest member of the ward here in Matero. He was baptized by his younger brother Sampson Phiri.

This week we also had 6 other investigators at church. All of which should be getting baptized this upcoming transfer. The work is really progressing lately. I am just so grateful to be serving in the Matero Ward at this time and to be a part of this great work. Sending love from Zambia! Until next week.

Ps. This week I checked something off my mission bucket list, haha we were fed breakfast, lunch, and dinner by members on Saturday! I was so full that day haha!

(Oh and by the way they don't have a baptismal suit in my size here so that is why I have to wear the small ones haha)
