So yesterday there was a rally for happy strong families and lots of religious leaders were invited. The Church here isn't as involved with other religions as it is in the United States, so we didn't have a representative in the event, but we did some work there anyway! We contacted a lot of people about family history.
At first they were hostile towards us and told us to get lost, but when we explained what our beliefs really were and that we wanted to invite them to use our services for free, they softened up pretty quickly. Sometimes all we need to do is show people who we really are. Even if we don't convert them, they'll walk away knowing that we are good people who love Christ. As representatives of our church, we're glad to help people understand who we really are, even if they don't get baptized.
Hope you're all well!
Note: Monique here. I've attached photos from last week's conferences. The one with 5 missionaries standing in a row? Those are the Elders who'll be transferring to the Dnepropetrovsk mission at the end of the month. Of the two group photos, the smaller one is the Odessa Zone (which will no longer be part of the Kyiv mission); the larger one is the whole Ukraine Kyiv Mission.
