Week 46: Final Report from NY

Hey everyone!

This is my last P-day here. To close things out, yesterday, we had Júlio, our Brazilian friend bring his whole family to church! They still don't speak a lot of English so my mission president authorized me to keep helping teach the family from Utah!

There have been so many miracles throughout my mission and I know that it has all been guided by my Heavenly Father who knows me and has made my mission into exactly the experience that I needed. 2 years ago, I had no idea that I would be finishing my mission from New York. Even if I had known, I would not have expected to find and teach an entire family of Brazilians in New York. I would never have planned to have served a couple of transfers speaking Swahili and working with members and friends from Eastern Africa. There were so many "curveballs" on my mission, but I know that none of this was a surprise to God. Elder Uchdorf shared about this last October, he said:

"This virus did not catch Heavenly Father by surprise. He did not have to muster additional battalions of angels, call emergency meetings, or divert resources from the world-creation division to handle an unexpected need.
My message today is that even though this pandemic is not what we wanted or expected, God has prepared His children and His Church for this time."

I know that my mission has changed me. It has been exactly what I needed to set me on the path that will lead to eternal life. I know that God knows and loves you individually. I know that he will put the experiences into your life that you are in need of. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that in him, I can do all things.

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" (2 Timothy 4:7)

See you all soon!
