Carlsbad, New Mexico

Elder Pawlak

Let the Holy Spirit Guide!!

Another week has come and gone! It's crazy how fast everything is going here in Carlsbad! This week was pretty productive! We got to teach quite a bit which was pretty fun and out of the norm! We went on exchanges with the District Leader and it was pretty fun! They are a bike area, so I got to go to a bike area again for the day, it was pretty awesome! I saw the Power of the Spirit work as we went contacting! When we were about to head in, we decided to knock one more door, and I saw a house with a tacoma in the driveway and felt that we should knock that one. The guy let us right in and we sat down and taught him the restoration and about The Book of Mormon for the next hour! IT was sweet! Too bad it wasn't in our area though haha. Oh well, as long as he gets the gospel!

Elder Pawlak and I have been doing family history and getting ourselves familiar with it so we can show our recent converts how to use it and get them to the temple! That's something that we're going to be focusing on is getting the RC's to the temple so they can feel the Spirit that comes from it!

I've been doing a pretty amazing study on the Atonement and I've been able to learn a lot about the various powers that are involved with helping us utilize the Atonement of Jesus Christ. One thing (out of many) that I've been able to take away from the study is that I need to be a creator of circumstances and act rather than be acted upon. 2 Nephi 2:14 says,
And now, my sons, I speak unto you these things for your profit and learning; for there is a God, and he hath created all things, both the heavens and the earth, and all things that in them are, both things to act and things to be acted upon.

It's super true, we have the choice to act or to be acted upon. When as you rely on the strength of the Lord and not your own, then He will be able to help you and strengthen you in your trials. I have a testimony of that and all it takes is our desire of wanting to become better. I love you all and hope you have a great week! Stay sweet!
