Wow this week was so incredible! There were so many spiritual moments that happened!
So first off, the area that Elder Nielsen and I are assigned to covers a lot of outlying cities, one of those being the town of Panhandle. We have some extraordinary members over there as well as less active members. We were able to contact some less actives and set up appointments to come back another time to visit with. After that, we went to a member home, the Sanchez family. This family is the coolest family ever! They had us over for dinner, we had a special spiritual thought with them and then we set up a time to go and help a less active person in Panhandle by fixing some things up in her house. Before we had to leave they asked something about a guitar, and Elder Nielsen said, "Well Elder Bollwinkel can play!" so we sat down for a little bit and played the guitar, told stories and laughed with each other. It was a great bonding moment to gain the trust of this family and we're so grateful for them! We're going to make it a goal to go out to Panhandle once a week and contact all of the less actives there! We had an awesome ward Christmas dinner in which we had several investigators attend, which was great! We had some fantastic food, sang some great songs and guess what...SANTA WAS THERE!!! Haha, but we had a really good time there!
Cool story, we were riding our bikes and going down hill and I hit a mound of dirt and then a curb and then the ground ha-ha. I scraped up my arm and leg pretty good and I also landed on my shoulder, which kinda hurt. When we got back to the house to change my jacked up shirt, there was a huge dirt patch on the garment near my shoulder. But when I took off my garment, my shoulder was completely fine! Not a scratch on it! It was pretty crazy! #blessed
I had the wonderful opportunity to go to the Temple this weekend! We caught the 3 hour ride down with the Sanchez's, which was a riot. We were fortunate to do initiatorys for some of their family names while they did sealings! While we were doing sealings, I commented on one of the workers tie bars that had an angle Moroni on it. He told me to wait for a second and he came back with a spare one he had in his bag. I kindly refused the offer but thanked him for his generosity but he wouldn't let me leave the temple without it! I'm so grateful for him and his random act of kind service!
Something else that was cool was that I ran into Hailey Archibald at the temple! If you don't know, Hailey served in the Texas Lubbock Mission and she was visiting the mission with her parents! I was standing in line and heard someone say my name. I turned around and she was standing right there! I didn't recognize her at first, but then her mom walked in and I was freaking out ha-ha. I was waiting for Hannah to walk in but she didn't come with them ha-ha. But it was great to see them! It's crazy that we ran into each other at the most perfect time, considering that Pampa is 3 hours away from the temple. It's crazy how the Lord works!
I love reflecting on this Christmas season and the true meaning of Christmas. I'm so grateful for everything that the Lord has done for us. I can't even imagine what it was like to wait for the arrival of the Savior and Redeemer of Mankind. I can't imagine His death either. Or even what it was like to see Him in the ancient Americas. But what I can imagine is His return here on Earth. It's going to be glorious and magnificent. All evil and wickedness is going to be abolished and it is never going to return. We are going to be able to live with our Father in Heaven and His Son, Jesus Christ once more and I'm so grateful for that! Keep in mind that unto us a Savior is born! Love you!
