A New Green Week.

Alright so this was a very eventful week! Lots of stuff happened with me and the new greenie! I was able to experience so much and learn so much from the Spirit!

So on Tuesday, Elder Knapp and I drove to Amarillo to meet everyone at the transfer site. I said bye to him there and he hopped in a truck and went down to Lubbock. Just like that. I then went on exchanges with Elders Slater and Garlick. They are some hilarious missionaries. I stayed the night at their apartment during our last transfer when we had stake conference, so I knew them pretty well! We went to an awesome BBQ place called Wesley's and I got this giant baked potato with brisket, chili and BBQ sauce all over it. I'm glad I'm not serving in Amarillo or else I would get fat and broke ha-ha. After that we went out finding for about an hour, then went back to the transfer site to pick up Elder Nielsen! When I first saw this kid, he looked so green it was hilarious! Can only imagine myself a couple months ago. Then I realized, dang this kid is tall. Then I realized, dang this kid is built. Then I realized, dang this kid could beat me up if I get on his bad side haha. He's a super nice guy though. Elder Nielsen is from Draper, Utah and he played football in high school so that explains his large stature. He's super funny and he is so ready to work!

When we got back home we went and did service for a member who actually lives in Fort Stockton, but is moving her stuff out. So we helped her with that and then went home and that ended our day. We went out to Sister Garcia's and we did service for her and got to introduce Elder Nielsen to her. Elder Nielsen is going through a culture shock phase, because he's used to a Stake enter being on every block and being able to walk to the Temple in two minutes. It's pretty funny but I'm helping him work on it.

We got to meet this really cool guy named Mark. He actually contacted us and wanted to see us. When we went over, he said that he has some friends that are looking for a church to join. He told us that he was a member when he was younger, and that he was judged by a member and left the church. He told us he's never going to step foot in a church again, but he wanted his friends to know about a good church that has structure. We were kind of confused but we were able to talk to him for a while and get to know his story. He's got caught up in all of this paranormal junk and he's a ghost hunter. I had to hold myself but from chuckling cause he believes in every part of it. He's a super nice guy though, he jokes around a lot, and he kind of reminds me of Brother Boone. He called us when we were about to get out of the car and said that he's been thinking about us a lot. He told us that we were exemplary young men. Now this is a man that wouldn't even let missionaries into his house, telling us that we were doing a good job at what we did. He truly is a sincere man and we're grateful for his concern in helping his friends find the true church.

We got to meet with his friends and they are so open to the gospel! They had a lot of questions and we were able to answer all of them! Of course we got the coffee and polygamy questions, that was a given. But they also had questions about the Book of Mormon and the Bible and how they work to gether. We're meeting with them this Tuesday and we're actually doing the lesson in the church building, which I've never done before. Please pray for Elder Nielsen and I, so everything goes well!

That was probably the highlight of this week; Elder Nielsen and I are getting along great and our companionship is already getting stronger. I can feel the Spirit working with us. This assignment that I have to be a District leader and a Trainer is a really hard one for me as a new missionary. I do know that the Lord will bless me as I do this, but it's still really nerve racking. Grateful this is the Lords work cuz I'm still a new missionary instructing a district of missionaries that have been out way longer than I have! It'll be good – if I follow His will. I have my first District meeting tomorrow so pray for me that it goes well! I love you all and I'm so grateful for all of your prayers for me!
