Week 95 Missionary Email
Hello everyone!!
Another temple trip and some misty rain, and we have once again finished another week in El Pinar!
Temple Trip: We once again went to the temple, bringing 3 recent converts to do baptisms for the dead. We also brought an investigator who wanted to go to the temple so bad that he was willing to wait for us outside, even buying 2 magazines in the distribution store. We then came back and went to lunch with a recent convert, where he bought me maybe the biggest burger from Burger King I have ever seen (4 patties!!). I managed to down the whole thing.
Get Creative: Things have not been so easy lately in El Pinar, as the earthquake and cloudy weather have been making it harder to find people. I started wondering if our whiteboard idea would ever yield any fruits in the work. However, someone we found doing the whiteboard finally had an open time to let us into her house. We came by, and she told us that she had two young daughters that were not members of the church, but said that they were very shy, and did not like getting to know new people. We got them out of their room, got to know them, and shared a message about baptism and coming to church. We testified that coming to church and being part of the youth group would be super fun for them, while they also grew closer to their best fried, Jesus Christ. They miraculously said "yes", and came to church this Sunday, even on a rainy day. They loved the experience, and are already in the group chat for the young women. Looking back on the experience, I realized that there was literally no other way we could find these young women. They did not leave their house, her mom had no contact with missionaries, and she lived in a private access apartment complex. However, the mom had the heart to choose a Jesus Christ card in her busy life, and come to Christ again, but this time with her kids.
