Week 93 Missionary Email

Hello everyone!!

3 more baptisms and more whiteboard magic and another week has passed by here in El Pinar!

3 baptisms and 3 sealings: The bishopric is working super hard here in El Pinar. The ward had 3 sealings this week, as 3 couples got sealed in the temple. We could keep with the momentum and give them 3 more baptisms. I hope that they can keep moving forward and get to the temple.

A Cry for Help: This transfer, my companion and I have really been running around. Sometimes we have heard people that call out to us, and we honestly just don't have time to stop. My comp and I were talking about this, and we decided that when somebody calls out to us, we have to stop and talk to them no matter what we're doing. Sunday came, and we were going to lunch with hungry stomachs. We heard it: "hola Élderes!" and we stopped right in our tracks to talk to this old lady. She was selling strawberries and whipped cream on a busy corner. She went on to tell us that she was baptized in a tiny town in the mountains of Perú. She had felt a great Spirit in the church building there until a young man from the church told her that she was not welcome there because she did not have high enough quality of clothing. At this point, she was crying uncontrollably. She told us that she had moved here with some family to kind of just get a new start. We asked forgiveness on the part of the young man, and helped her remember that she had indeed felt the spirit of God in God's church, and that it wasn't the young man's church, but it was God's church. She once again got excited, and we explained to her where the church was and how to get there. We got down her name and number and passed it on to the relief society president. My comp and I later reflected on the experience, and we realized that people saying "hola Élderes" to us in the street is not just a greeting, but often a cry for help.

Élder Regla

1. Diego wet. 16-year-old grandson of a member who just pulled up to church and has wanted to get baptized since our first lesson. He was also baptized by Renato, a 17-year-old convert of less than a month.
2. Daniel wet. 21-year-old we literally found just looking through the YSA group chat who is very active in all of the YSA activities. We had our first lesson with him, and he literally told us: "Well, you found me. Guess I just have to get baptized now"😂. He was also baptized by a 17-year-old convert of less than a month named Angelo.
3. Valeria wet. She has been pushing back her baptismal date for months now. I finally just told her Sunday at 6 and that was it and she finally agreed. She was a pain to coordinate with, but it was all worth it.
4. Goofy elevator Pic on exchange with Élder Sandall from Richfield, Utah.
5. Comas zone after our zone council meeting
