Week 88 Missionary Email
Hello everyone!!
Two more baptisms and another week has past in El Pinar!
Renato and Angelo!: This week, we had the opportunity to baptize Renato and Angelo! Renato is a 17-year-old who was a referred by his girlfriend from another ward (and now we see that the Lord uses a variety of ways to gather Israel 😂). Angelo (a 21-year-old) was also a referral from another ward who absolutely loves the Barcelona football club. Both of them were very excited to make their first covenants with God this week, and I hope we can get them to the temple next week. I am excited for this next week as well, as we are planning to baptize 6 people
Faith Before Doubts: It really makes a lot of sense when Elder Uchtdorf tells us to "doubt our doubts before we doubt our faith". This week, the same person that I found in the street saying "good afternoon" found some anti-church things on the internet, and probably won't get baptized. Looking back on the whole experience, I understood the difference between Jorge and me. Jorge, by not completing with our invitations to read the Book of Mormon and ask God about it, was trusting in the internet and man more than God. By so doing, he started listening to the doubts in his head, and could no longer recognize the feelings of the Holy Ghost. What I did, is I believed first. I believed that if I asked with a sincere heart and real intent, God would tell me what is true and what is not. Then, on the mission, once I heard about all of the arguments that people tell us that the church is not true, I honestly really didn't and don't care. I already have my testimony anchored in what God has told me is true, and no one can take that away from me.
