Week 87 Missionary Email

Hello everyone!!

Wow. What a week.

I Knew it Would Come: Almost every human being knows that when the seasons change, there is a likelihood of getting sick. And almost every missionary knows that being sick on the mission is the absolute worst. That was me this week. In a member contact on Tuesday, I almost fainted and had to sit down on the curb to catch my breath. We went back to the house to rest because I didn't want to faint in the streets. However, I dragged myself out of bed so I could get to a lesson where we set two more baptismal dates. I think that the Holy Ghost was in that lesson because I was white as a Ghost😂

Silvia and Pablo!: I was so happy to go back to see the baptisms of Silvia and Pablo this week in my old area. They were so happy and I hope that they can get to the temple!

He Knows: Missionaries have tough weeks. I had a tough week being sick, but my comp had a week that is very hard for anyone to imagine.

Every Thursday, our district has a call to study together. We were getting ready for the call when my comp told me that he had to call his family and it was urgent. I said that I would just stay in the call until he came out, thinking that his call would be short. However, he never came out. I finished the call and started getting ready to leave, filling up my water bottle. Then, my companion opened the door of the bedroom with tears in his eyes. "I just lost my Mom", he tells me. I drop my water bottle in the sink and give him a hug. He cries tears on my shoulders for a solid 2 minutes, until I offer to say a prayer together. He offers one of the most humble, sincere prayers I have ever heard, crying the whole time. I offer to give him a blessing, and he accepts. I gave him the best blessing I could, and he gave me another hug and we arrived late to lunch. Ever since then, I have been trying to support when he can do things, and carry him when he can't.

At the baptism, I started to miss my last area (the adventures, members, etc.). But this morning I woke up and realized that I was moved here for a reason. I truly understood the reason for everything that had happened. I also understood the importance of our calling. My companion told me: "Imagine not knowing about the plan of salvation and getting this news". We have taken that to heart and focused even more on our calling. Please, keep Élder Urgilez in your prayers.
