Week 47 Missionary Email
Hello everyone!!!
Another week of gray clouds and rice and chicken in Lima, Perú, and another week has passed in the mission. Let’s get into it:
Really? It's your Independence Day?: Well, I guess it was the Independence day of Perú yesterday, and I honestly didn't see a lot of Peruvian flags or anything that showed the celebration of the day that their country gained their independence. Honestly kind of not impressed, but makes me a bit more grateful for the 4th of July!!
Cuidado!!: There was a little bit of chaos in the streets yesterday, as the Venezuelan elections happened yesterday, and they thought that the non-dictator would win, but the dictator still won, and some of the Venezuelans were pretty mad. Nothing super bad happened, but there was definitely some tempers flaring in the streets.
Just Be Bold and Trust in God: This week, I focused on teaching with happiness and boldness, inviting the people to act. This unfortunately led to me taking over a lot of the lessons, making bold invitations to church, read the scriptures, and to be baptized. This led to setting a date for baptism, 7 attendances at church and a whopping 8 new people. I am usually quite bold when I teach, but I knew that something was missing, and it was the happiness. When you teach with a smile, laugh a lot, and really love what you are doing, it tends to have a really good effect on the person that you are teaching. It shows the people that living the gospel really is a joy, not just something that we teach.
