Week 8 Missionary Email

Hello everyone!!
Thanks for tuning in to my missionary email this week!!! Being on a mission has already changed me in so many ways! I love to write home and tell you about my experiences!!
Peru Visa: This week, I received an email saying that I need to retake my passport photos and that MY VISA WILL BE COMING SOON!! According to the research my amazing mother has done, I should be leaving the Baltimore mission in anytime from a week to a month. This is pretty bittersweet because I have absolutely LOVED my time in York! The people here are so diverse and I have gotten to dip my toes into so many different cultures that I would never have experienced in any other way. That being said, I literally am SO excited to experience Lima!!! I have talked to so many people in the Spanish ward in York talking about how lucky I am to experience Peruvian culture and EAT THE FOOD hahaha!!! Anyways I honestly feel so blessed to be literally anywhere!!!
Gunshots and fiestas: Multiple times this week we were walking around town, heard multiple gunshots, shrugged our shoulders and kept walking. You know it for sure when you hear the sirens right after. We knocked on somebody's door and he opened it and told us about violence that had just happened right outside his door the night before. Two men kidnapped a guy, took him into their apartment, shot him and threw him out on the street. We quickly changed the subject to the gospel of Jesus Christ and how Christ felt all the pains that we have felt. He wasn't very receptive to  our message LOL!! Anyways, while I have been in York, I have realized how much Latinos love their fiestas. We have had THREE ward fiestas in the two and a half weeks I have been here!! This weekend, we had a fall fiesta on Saturday with plenty of different types of food from all different types of countries. The next day, we had a linger-longer/baby shower right after church, with different food by the SAME PEOPLE!!!! These people genuinely love to cook for you. In fact, the members get mad at us for not coming to eat food at their house hahaha!!!
D-BACKS IN THE WORLD SERIES: Oh it feels so good to be a fan of a team that used to be SO, SOOOO BAD but is now champs of the NL! Go Answerbacks!
Halloween for Latinos: We actually have scheduled so many lessons for Halloween night for latinos! This is because in many Latino countries Halloween is considered to be of the devil. Many Latinos are seeking for ways to keep the "devil" out of their house that night, so they will let us come over on Halloween LOL!!
Spiritual Story: As a missionary in York, I have gotten rejected many times. There was one particular day, where we just got rejected a ton, and literally all of our lessons fell through. Next, we walked past a group of women smoking cigarettes (and I mean they were huffing and puffing). And I got up the courage to say to these sketchy people in a very unsafe part of town: "Hey, do y'all wanna come to church with us?" A couple of them immediately laughed me off, but one of them did stay behind and said: "Yeah what church?" A little background on this woman: I would say she was about 30 or 35 years old and she had a lifelong addiction to heroine. She explained that her husband left town after she had her first child, and that her 21-year-old daughter has an addiction to fetanyl. She was living in a drug-recovery home away from her daughter. We gave her the address to our church and taught her about the restoration and the Book of Mormon. She was overcome with emotion. She said that she had been wanting to know more about God, but didn't feel that any of the churches were right. When we told her about Joseph Smith and gave her a book that testified more about Christ, she was overcome with emotion.
