This is the new email list for all those who want to hear about my experiences in my mission in real time! Thanks so much for being interested!!
I have LOVED my MTC experience so far!! I will give you an overview by sharing a few of the main experiences that I have had with some pictures.
Things that I love about the MTC: There is an amazing spirit here! I have found that when every single thought I have is focused on gathering Israel, I tend to have more spiritual experiences. The mountains are beautiful, and it's about the best time of year to be here. I was called to be a district leader as well. It is super fun to serve and fellowship the amazing people in my district!!
One hard thing: the amount of people here. It is kind of annoying having to wait in line for the showers and the insanely long lines for meals. But on the flip side, singing "Called to Serve" with thousands of other people united in the work of gathering Israel was one of the coolest experiences of my entire life!!
My companion: His name is Elder Prince and he is from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (shoutout to Savannah!). He is 6'5" and 250 pounds!! Don't think I will ever have another companion as big as him again LOL!!! Anyways he's a cool dude and I'm excited to spend the next few weeks with him! My other roommates are from Florida and Georgia.
One spiritual experience: I was studying the language with my companion, and was getting a little overwhelmed. There are just so many different things to remember in Spanish and I was getting a little frustrated. My companion and I decided to take a break and do some personal scripture study. As a busy missionary, I had not had time to do my Come, Follow Me for the week. So, having no idea what it was about, I turned to 1 Corinthians 15. To my amazement, the whole chapter discussed the gift of tongues, and the ability to preach the Lord's Gospel in a way others can understand. I then realized I did not need to learn the entire language before I went to Perú, I just needed to know how to teach the gospel. This brought me a lot of comfort and peace. I don't remember ever reading a chapter about the gift of tongues in the scriptures, but that was what I needed to read in that moment. Coincidence? I think not.
Wednesday is my p-day, so I'm gonna try to get these out every week.
Thank you for your prayers!!
