Consagracion! [Consecration!] Date: November 21, 2017 at 11:23:52 AM MST

That´s the theme in the mission right now. I´m doing my best to be consagrado [consecrated] and be the best tool for the Lord that I can be! Ok! Lo siento [I’m sorry] for not emailing yesterday - due to lateness in arriving at the internet shop and the very old software they use here, I didn't have enough time to write out my email to the family. But here it is! Well, as I mentioned in the recording, I now have less than a year left on my mission. I haven't hit my year mark yet, that'll come on Dec. 7th, but my date to come home is on the 20th of November, 2018, now less than a year away. How the time has flown. I also feel like I've been here for a really long time haha, but it's crazy that a year has gone by here in the DR. So many experiences, so many lessons learned, I can't even begin to tell them. And I still have a year left to double all those experiences and lessons! Woohoo!

I'm sorry to put this in the general email again, but I lost the personal email. Cierra. I need an update. One does not simply get engaged and not update their cousin who is on a mission about it :) Thank you! Love you! Tell Jake (that's his name, right?) hi for me!

Happy Dia de Accion de Gracias everyone! [Happy Thanksgiving!] I doubt we're going to do anything for it. I'll probably buy an extra snack that day or something, but I hope everyone out yonder in the US enjoys their gavo, jamon, papas, pie, todo eso. [turkey, ham, potatoes, pie, and all that] Now when Christmas comes around, I'll be eating well, don't you worry about that. Almost everyone here already has their little Christmas tree and decorations out. La Navidad is a big deal here and I'm excited for it! I will be expecting Thanksgiving pictures from all of you, FYI ;) This week for the first time that I can remember, I received personal inspiration, direction, and comfort from the scriptures. It's not the first time that that's happened to me, but the first time in a moment when I really needed it. I was feeling a bit stressed the other day as I was preparing a talk [mini sermon] to give in church. I flipped open the Book of Mormon and read Alma 17: 9, then flipped randomly to 3 Nefi 12:6. [That’s 3 Nephi. He’s losing English. :) ] Later that day I read a random verse in D&C though I can't remember exactly where, then the last verse of the book of Matthew in the Bible, I believe it's Matthew 28: 20 or something. Every one of those verses fit exactly what I needed to hear in that moment, exactly the counsel that I needed. I know have a much stronger testimony that God truly does speak to us through the scriptures, through His prophets of old. I know He loves us, much much more than we know or comprehend. What a beautiful truth that is! Thank you family and friends for your love for me! Keep on trying to be like Jesus. :)

This was my sunset this morning :) Sorry for the lack of pictures. I'm waiting on a couple people to send me some of some bautismos [baptisms] and of me playing the accordion haha
