Love from mom (week 1)

The MTC is definitely not at all what I thought it would be. About five minutes after you guys left I walked in the classroom and the teacher started talking gibberish to me. I had no clue what she was saying. But now it's only been a week and me and my companion have taught five lessons to an investigator. The first lesson was a mess. We took in a bunch of notes and tried to use them, but we couldn't understand a thing he said. Yesterday, we almost had a full conversation with him. We've been learning a lot about ang kaloob ng mga wika (gift of tongues) and how it doesn't necessarily make you fluent, but the Spirit can deliver your message to them. That is definitely a gift that I am grateful to have. When I first got to the MTC I found out that I was in a triple companionship because there was an odd number of us. Their names are Elder Burke (no relation to home) and Elder Stevens. Then two days in one of the other Elders had to go home for medical reasons. I got paired with the other Elder, named Elder Payne. All of them are great people and I've learned from each of them. I just want to end by saying I know this church is true, I know that I am right where Heavenly Father wants me, doing what He wants me to do. I know I can see the blessings of the Lord all around me and I hope you all can as well. I say these things sa pangalan ni Jesucristo, Amen.

Dear Elder Anderton,
We had an emotional afternoon after we dropped you off but it was an afternoon that brought us all together. I really felt like that was a blessing!! I pretty much slept on the drive home--Emotionally drained. Angela had asked me to go to the Temple with her on Thursday. She and I went to the 10:00 session. I was able to put your name on the prayer roll as ELDER ANDERTON and that w,as SO COOL!!! Every time I go to the Temple, I love the opportunity and the feeling I have when I am able to put our families names on the prayer roll. To know that people are praying for us and  being able to receive those blessings, it really does bring comfort. After I got home from the Temple,I took another nap!! Yes, your mom feels like a slug!!Friday, we spent most of the day in Pocatello for Dylan's baseball games. They lost their first one by quite a bit. Dylan was the only one to score during that game!! The next game  was MUCH better! Dylan actually got to pitch as well. He did a pretty good job! He's improved a lot with Darin's help. They then lost their last game. That put them 9th out of 12 teams so they played at 8:00 on Saturday in a single elimination tournament. Dylan got up to bat and got walked to first base. He stole to second base. His teammate hit the ball and it went right by second base. Dylan started to run and stopped so he didn't get hit by the ball and then kept running and made it home. After he made it home, the umpires called Dylan out and took his point away. They said that he interfered with the play!! His coach yelled at the umps and he ended up getting thrown out of the game. Dylan felt pretty rotten thinking that it was his fault but several people reassured him that it wasn't his fault. In the last inning, they were down 2-6 and Dylan's team rallied from behind and the end score ended up being 5-6. They still lost but they played super tough and did great!! We went to the fireworks at Jensen's Grove Saturday night. Julie had some tickets for dinner there so that was nice. The fireworks were really great... pretty much 30 minutes of straight fireworks. I was pretty impressed!! Only one little mishap...We had asked Dylan and Koryne to go get us something to drink and all the booths were closed. (They had taken Boden with them too.) Koryne came back to tell us that Dylan and Boden had taken off walking to Walmart! Kiara and Jacob ran to go to try to catch up to them and Julie went after them too. Dylan and Boden were already checking out by the time Kiara and Jacob had got to them. Just a little scary moment...
Sunday was a great day at church!! A lot of people asked about you. It was comforting to think that you're doing exactly what you're supposed to be doing!! I haven't cried since I got home on Wednesday. I know that it's partly due to going to the Temple and then knowing that you're doing what you're supposed to be doing and honestly, I wouldn't want you doing anything else or being anywhere else!! That gives me the most peace and comfort!! I am SO unbelievably proud  of you!!  This is so good for you and I know that we will all be blessed!!I guess I better get to bed for the evening. I just want you to know how much I love you and how proud I am of you!! You are a remarkable young man and I'm thankful to call you my son!! I have been praying for you everyday. This is good for me to get me saying my prayers like I should be. Now I need to get better about reading my scriptures. I'm working on it. Have any pointers for me???
So, I'm looking forward to hearing about all that you're doing at the MTC--
Your schedule, your companion, your feelings about what you're doing? I'm looking forward to getting your emails!!
Have a fabulous week!!! Monday is now my new favorite day of the week!!Love you lots and for always, Mom
