6 months down and the Puerto Rico Temple!

This week was so, so cool! The Puerto Rico Temple ground breaking was so cool! Oh my goodness, so we didn't get to go but we all got together as a mission (except the island missionaries) and watched it and it was so awesome! Everyone here is so excited for it and now that the ground has broken, people are starting to help out a lot with the missionary work. As a mission we started something new where every missionary has to talk to 10 people every day, like 10 new people... so then each companionship would be talking to 140 people a week. A mission in Santo Domingo started that and they are baptizing as a mission more than a 100 people a week, so we have started this and hopefully we will be getting a ton of work done! If we can do this each day it would mean as a mission, we will be talking to about 1000 people, and with the temple being built, there will be so many people coming and joining.

At our mission conference Sister Smart (President Smarts wife) talked about how the islands in our mission are part of the prophecy from Jesus and about the Blood of Israel being scattered of the isles of the sea and how that is here in our mission!
She told a story about how a Patriarch went out to an island in our mission to give kids there Patriarchal blessing and he gave 10 of them, and of those 10 half of them were from different tribes of Israel. Like super crazy! Over on these Islands we are gathering Israel back together with people from so many different tribes! It was a good talk.

Also this week we had a family night with our branch. At least half the branch came which was super cool and it was a lot of fun! We had asked a family to plan a lesson about Charity and Love and they did such a good job! They talked about how, with love there are 4 parts. 1. service 2. forgiveness 3. Humility 4. Putting the Lord before the things of the world.
They talked about how we receive all this love and how we need to give the same to others. God gives us so many blessings and well in turn we need to go and serve our friends or neighbors and help share that same love. It was super cool and super powerful!
Oh and Elder Walter F. González, president of the Caribbean Area surprised us and came to our mission conference/dinner later that day before he flew out, and spoke to us as well. The Spirit was strong on the island this week! Everyone is so excited for this to begin, and have the opportunity to go to the Temple. One of my favorite parts was the blessings that took place asking Heavenly Father to protect this land from storms, it was emotional for everyone here, especially the members. They've waited so long for this. It's a great week here in Puerto Rico, and I feel blessed to be a part of it.

I love you all,
Elder Reynolds
