Ugluunii mend!
I got sick again!! Wasn't too bad though. Helps me feel alive. The days are getting colder but no snow yet. Let's see how long I can make it without pulling out my winter clothes. I have now served a sisters mission! Our sisters are gone; time to crank out the last six months!
We got to watch conference together as a mission. It is so incredible to me how all my problems and questions align so perfectly with messages given at conference. I know God is aware of me and this is His church led by a prophet of God. This conference provided a course of direction for me for the next six months. Also Orem and Cobán are getting temples!
The Book of Mormon videos are out! I have been waiting for these for a long time. As you watch they help you see the stories in a different light. Something that I have felt so strongly this week is the need for the Book of Mormon in my life. Over the course of a year and 6 months I have read that book 5 times. I thought that I would now move on to the Doctrine and Covenants and study related topics from the Book of Mormon. However, I have felt so strongly that I cannot afford to live a day without the Book of Mormon. I started it again.
I urge you to read it again. If you are reading already, redouble your efforts and recommit. The book of Mormon is evidence of the reality of Jesus Christ. You will come to know Him by a serious study of it. You will find direction and joy in your life. You will find the strength and hope and peace you need the very moment you hold it in your hands!
I want to share a direct blessing from this Book. A year and six months ago in the Missionary Training Center we received a challenge and promise from the prophet that if we did a serious study everyday from the Book of Mormon in our mission language, we would be fluent in 6 months. I took the challenge. Now the book of Mormon is ancient Mongolian that no one uses, the words are different and difficult to comprehend, but I read. A miracle happened. I was able to speak better. By six months I could communicate freely and a year in, I felt comfortable. Please step back and see the miracle! No, that wasn't me! No! Mongolian is not very easy! But there is such POWER in the Book of Mormon that is yours to be unleashed! I now love this language and use it every opportunity I can. I promise the help you need in your life will be found in that book. It holds the words of life - the words of Jesus Christ.
It's just too good!
Love,
Aghlakch McOmber
