こんにちは, みなさん (@Tyler refer to literally every other email to know what this means hahaha)
This week has been pretty uneventful. We got our flight plans to Japan! We leave Monday morning at 4:15 am so that's gonna be way fun hahaha We also taught our last lesson to one of our investigators. We had only ever taught him twice, but we figured we would ask him to be baptized anyways. He said no hahaha but it was worth a shot.
Me and a guy from my district also audtioned for a musical number last week, and we're performing for the MTC presidency breakfast tomorrow morning! I'll try to get pictures or a video or something for you guys ;P
Funny story:To preface this story, my 先生 (sensei) really loves the office. He also pretends to be an investigator for each companionship to teach. Two of the 姉妹 (shimai: sisters) in my district were teaching him, and they asked him to pull out his phone to write down a reminder to go to church or something, and he started laughing really hard. They thought it was kind of weird but they just skipped over it and kept teaching. Then while they were praying at the end he started laughing again. So after the prayer they went up to him (he's still laughing) and he showed them his phone screen, and it was a gif of Kevin (from the office) spilling his chili all over the floor hahahaha. So now everytime we pray all I can think of is Kevin hahaha.
Spiritual Experience:So I was reading in the Book of Mormon and I came across this scripture in Alma 5:7 Behold, he [Jesus] changed their hearts; yea, he awakened them out of a deep sleep, and they awoke unto God. Behold, they were in the midst of darkness; nevertheless, their souls were illuminated by the light of the everlasting word; yea, they were encircled about by the bands of death, and the chains of hell, and an everlasting destruction did await them.8 And now I ask of you, my brethren, were they destroyed? Behold, I say unto you, Nay, they were not.So I saw two different meanings from this scripture. 1: Even when we think we are on the brink of destruction, when we are surrounded by the adversary, when the trigger has been pulled and the bullet is flying our way, it isn't too late for Jesus to step in and stop the destruction in its tracks. All we need to do is have a little faith first.2: Change is hard. Nobody really enjoys change, especially when it involves changing who you are. These people managed to change their hearts, but did it kill them? No, it didn't. It may be hard, but it won't kill you or me either.
Pictures!1: Some of the 姉妹 in my district taking a selfie with my tablet while I was in the bathroom. Just so ya'll know that I'm loved hahaha2: I came back from class the other night and a missionary from the floor below me was sitting on my bed on a chair?3: Two of the 姉妹 making beards with their hair. I guess girls do it all the time but I literally died when I looked over and saw that.4: We're re-enacting the painting in our classroom. See if you can guess which one hahaha
