So here I am in Chitre, La Arena! It´s been awesome getting to know a new area and a new companion and a new way of life in general. Yeah, the mission is different, now that I am not on the islands, but it´s all good! I am with an Elder named Elder Reimer and he has like 6 months in the mission. It´s good that I get to be with a younger missionary, because all of my companions have been older than me.
Oh, by the way, before i talk about my week, we had a baptism, before the last change ended! We baptized a kid named Emmanuel and it was a good service! Elder Bertuccini baptized him literally an hour before he had to get on a boat to leave. That was how he finished his mission; with a baptism :)
So anyway, here in the area we are building up a group, so that it can become a branch. Yeah, you thought that they´d take me from the islands and put me in a ward right? Well, no, I am here having church in our house! Well, as of right now it´s the Senior Missionary couples´ house, but when they leave it´s ours. But it´s really fun to build up the Lord´s Kingdom like this. We are seeing a quick expansion, because on Sunday we had 19 in attendance! Hopefully, soon they will divide the Chitre branch so that they can have a building here in La Arena! The goal of our Mission President is that before he leaves, Chitire will become a stake. We are doing everything that we can, so that happens!
We are working with some cool investigators! A guy named Nelson, who should be baptized this week! Also, Ismael and Cornelia will be baptized; they just need to be married. The best thing about this area, is that we have a senior couple working with us! Elder and Sister Ashton honestly are the best, because they make American-style food and they really keep the group running! I will be sad when they leave, because they help pick up old people. (We seem to work a lot with old people here). So, I guess I can say that all in all the area is really awesome and I am glad to be here! We are really seeing great things here and by this next week we should be baptizing! Let´s do this thing :)
