Viva Santa Cruz!
Hola! Today is Santa Cruz's birthday! The whole city has been decorated all week. Last night there were fireworks and lots of people dressed up in traditional cruzeño outfits. Of course we copped some Santa Cruz shirts! There's so much Camba pride here in this city I love it! Viva Santa Cruz!!
A couple weeks ago we had a small reunion with Elder Beccera of the 70. A powerful dude! He talked a lot about Christ (obviously) and the prophet and apostles! One thing I thought was cool was that he said the decision to implement 2 hour church and come follow me was talked about among the apostles for 18 years! Then about a year before a world pandemic President Nelson said it's time, and all the apostles agreed. Straight revelation!
In D&C 1:17 the Lord says "Wherefore, I the Lord, knowing the calamity which should come upon the inhabitants of the earth, called upon my servant Joseph Smith, Jun., and spake unto him from heaven, and gave him commandments." The Lord knows the future. He knows what's in store for all of us! I'm so thankful that the Lord called Joseph Smith "to bring it forth out of obscurity and out of darkness, the only true and living church."
I am also thankful that the Lord is aware of OUR future calamities, and continues to call upon his chosen servants to warn and help us! I'm super excited to be able to watch conference in a week and hear from these chosen servants of the Lord! Hope y'all are too!
Fun fact this conference marks a year since I left Georgia/Florida and came here to Bolivia. A year ago I watched conference with my companion Elder Vasquez. Now here we are back at October general conference and Elder Vasquez and I are companions again! Funny how that works. This time we can actually communicate together. What a blessing!
