Out of the Frying Pan and Into the Fire
Ah hola todos! Sooo big news. Transfers are this week. Sadly Elder Poma will be leaving me, but I'll be training a brand new Elder here in Centenario! It's gonna be so crazy. I don't know if it's the BEST idea, but it's a fun one! I'm definitely still learning the area, how to survive in Bolivia, and how to speak Spanish. For example someone this week asked me if I was from Brazil. I guess she thought my Spanish sounded like Portugese! Haha I don't think that's a good thing but maybe I'll start telling people I'm from Brazil. Please pray for me and my new son this week!
This week we got to help out with a big service project in our stake. They were collecting clothes and food for those in need. A super awesome service project for here! I was absolutely amazed at how giving all the members here are! Not surprised, but amazed. So many people showed up and donated tons of clothes and food. It's so cool to see people who maybe have relatively less things than other parts of the world, but are so charitable and giving!
Our friend Ivan Hervas is on date to be baptized this Saturday! He's a super cool 24 year old that came to the church all by himself one Sunday. Kind of random but he started using his Dad's car to be a taxi driver this week, even though he's never drove before in his life. That's just how it is out here in Bolivia I love it! Anyways yes he's super amazing and he has such a desire to be baptized!
Just wanted to let you all know that there is SO much joy to be found in missionary work! When you really just lose yourself and focus on helping others you're able to see so much more of the good! Pretty sure I've heard that same thing 100 times, but I guess it must be true haha. I challenge y'all to find a way to serve someone else today!
Please pray for peace in Bolivia so that the Lord's work can keep on keeping on! Love you all!
