Yooo I made it!! Said some really hard goodbyes to family, MTC district, and friends. Then on Tuesday I flew out to Jacksonville with about 30 other missionaries. It was sick because we were all just in the back of the plane. I made some good friends!
Right when we stepped out of the airport we instantly felt the humidity. We instantly started sweating buckets so that's fun. Our first 2 days were training. President Wood and Sister Wood are awesome!! On our last morning of training during Sister Woods lesson the fire alarm went off. It was so loud. We all went outside and waited forever for the fire department to get there. There were sooo many missionaries because everyone had come in for transfers! It was super fun. We ended up not finishing our training, and we just met our trainers and set off.
My trainer is Elder Molisi. He's a big hearted Tongan from good ol SLC. He is super sick!! We are in Brunswick Georgia. Wait... Elder Barker didn't you say you were going to Florida?? Haha ya it turns out a good chunk of the mission comes up in Southern Georgia! I love Georgia.
Our area is super diverse. Over by the coast it's really nice! There are some super nice neighborhoods. Then as u work away from the coast it becomes more country. And oh man let me tell you, it gets country!! I would say a mix between the frog hunters in princess and the frog, and duck dynasty. The other day me and Edler Molisi accidentally took our Nissan Rouge mega off-roading to try and find a referral. There are smaller neighborhoods that literally have big trees growing in the middle of the road. The trees here are super sick!! Crazy big trees all over.
The work has been pretty slow, but we're working on finding people to teach. I think we'll have more opportunities this week. The members here are super sick!! They feed us dinner every night which has been really cool. Everyone here is super nice! Even when people tell us no, most of them do it very politely. Everyone says have a blessed day.
I love you all and appreciate all of the emails and prayers! Remember that God loves you!
Que tengan un día bendecido!
