We have had another blessed week here in Täby. This transfer has literally flown by and it's already week 6! I literally don't understand how, but we are still chugging along. Some highlights of the week:
- We had our Christmas Zone Conference! It was amazing. The first half we talked about the new white handbook, finding, teaching from the scriptures and tons of other great things. The second half of the Conference was "Christmas Eve with the Youngbergs." We read Christmas stories, there were tons of musical numbers, we watched "It's a Wonderful Life" and then finished it off by lighting the angel chimes (it's a Swedish thing). Some takeaways: President showed a video of Elder Uchtdorf where he said that as missionaries, it is our responsibility to find people to teach. This is the Lord's work and you can't be passive about it, you have to be actively engaged! It is going to take a lot of work but we have to continue to prepare, practice, and repeat! It got me pumped and helped me realize how much more I could be doing!
- We also had exchanges this last week with Gubbängen and I got to be with Elder Chino! Little known fact: Elder Chino knows Spanish and a little Chinese so we put those tools to work and we taught two lessons with Spanish speakers and one with Chinese speakers! We taught in Swedish still but it's always special when they get to hear a little about the gospel in their own language! We had a great day.
- We had some miracles on Saturday and Sunday! I've been studying a lot about following the spirit and one thing that I've noticed and have been learning is that guidance from the spirit always comes after we take a step of faith. For example: Nephi. When going back to get the gold plates, he was led by the spirit not knowing beforehand what he should do, but nevertheless he went forth. The Lord guided him to where he needed to be at the right time. On Saturday we felt like we should go contacting. We got to the place where we wanted to contact and there weren't very many people there... nevertheless we went forth. We ended up finding 3 potential people and we have a lesson set up with 2 of them for this upcoming Saturday! It's good having a little bit of uncertainty because if we knew how everything would work out then we would never need faith!
- Hui and Anna are also still killing it. They brought another friend to church! Oh my goodness, they're the best. Martin (Anna's dad) passed the sacrament for the first time and it made my heart so happy! It's amazing to see how far he's come! He's truly experiencing the joy that comes from living the gospel. :)
Thank you for all the prayers, they are making all of the difference. If you would all pray for my sister Heidi it would be much appreciated. She had surgery this last week to remove some skin cancer. She is such a fighter!
