To start out we got transfer calls last night and both me and Äldste Fronk will be staying here in Kungsbacka for another 6 weeks! We also got some other exciting news -that Äldste Fronk is going to be the district leader which means that I'M GOING TO BE GOING ON SPLITS WITH ÄLDSTE BECKMAN SOMETIME THIS TRANSFER!! I'M SO PUMPED! Not exactly sure when, but I think it's going to be in 2 weeks. It's going to be another good transfer here in Kungsbacka :)
This week was a little slower and not quite as much happened. We've just been doing lots of finding which is always good! We've had some pretty neat adventures!
On Wednesday we had no plans so as we were trying to figure out what to do, we found a less active person in our area book who has met with the missionaries before. She is married and her spouse and kids also sounded positive and they have all come to church before! They sounded super positive and it even said that Wednesdays were when they usually met the missionaries! She also lived kind of far away, but we felt like we should give it a shot and so we made plans to go out there. We ended up out in the general area and it's out in the country but also in the forest if that makes sense. I have pics. Anyways, we were trying to find this lady's house and we ended up getting slightly lost and so we decided to knock on doors as we went. After a while we figured out where the lady's house was, but there was a small hill in the way, so we could either take the shortcut over the hill or go all the way around. Of course we decided to take the short cut! It was kind of crazy though because as we started towards the hill we realized that there was a herd of yaks in a field about 60 yards away from us! There was a fence between us but we we were still kind of sketched out because they could've easily gotten past it if they wanted and they were all staring at us. After about 30 seconds all the yaks got up and just ran into the woods behind them. Why was there a pack of yaks in Sweden? I do not know but they were there. Anyways, we climb over this hill and get to the other side and find the house! No one was home... That was unfortunate and me and Äldste Fronk were kind of getting a weird not good feeling so we decided to leave to the bus stop. We found out that the bus would come in 30 minutes, so we decided to go back and knock on the neighbor's door to see if he knew anything about the family we were trying to find and they didn't answer either. However, as we did that, a car drove up into the less active's drive way! But then they turned around and left and we were so confused. We tried calling and everything but nothing worked so we just left back to Kungsbacka and tracted for the rest of the day. So yeah that was an adventure!
We also had splits with the Västra Frölunda Elders and I got to be with Elder Gordon! Wow, he is an amazing missionary and it was so fun to spend the day with and learn from him! We were able to talk to a bunch of people on trains and buses and were able to give out 3 Book of Mormons! We connected really well and it was just a joy to be with him. We also tracted out by the ocean. It is so BEAUTIFUL! Äldste Gordon also hooked me up and cut my hair!
Since I hit my year mark last week I have set quite a few goals for the next year! One of my goals is to become a better teacher. I was studying quite a bit about how I can achieve this goal and I ended up studying quite a bit about the story of Enoch. I love this story so much because when Enoch was first called of God he was scared and said that everyone hated him, he was slow of speech and he even questioned if he was a servant of God. (Moses 6:31: "...Why is it that I have found favor in thy sight, and am but a lad, and all the people hate me; for I am slow of speech; wherefore am I thy servant?" ) God had great plans for Enoch and as Enoch went forth with faith he was able to do the things that the Lord commanded him! In the next chapter Enoch is described as having such strong faith! Enough to move mountains and change river's courses! (Moses 7:13: "And so great was the faith of Enoch... that the earth trembled, and the mountains fled, even according to his command; and the rivers of water were turned out of their course...") So right now I kind of feel like I'm not that good at teaching, but I made a plan to do a teaching role play every companion study and as I rely on the Lord he will be able to make me into a better tool! Ether 12:27 is one of my favorite scriptures and I know that the promise in that verse is true!
"And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them." Ether 12:27
Have a great week! Unfortunately I do not have a pic of the yaks but you'll just have to trust me on this one.
