So as you read in the subject we had Zone Conference which means that I SAW ÄLDSTE BECKMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Highlight of my week for sure.
So yeah, we were all going to Malmö and I got off a bus and then I turn around and I see this blur running towards me and I knew. I started running at him and we had the most epic hug I think i've ever been a part of!! It was seriously soooooo good to see him though! All the way to the church we just talked on the bus and almost missed where we were supposed to get off because he was telling me stories and everything and I had just had so many things to get caught up on!
But then that night we got our phones and got our Facebooks and everything (which I'm sure a few of you have noticed (my profile is Nathan Ball because they wouldn't allow Nathan Balls...awkward)) But yeah, so now we can use Facebook to further the Lord's work here in Sweden! Im not allowed to message anyone outside of my area here in Lund so if i don't respond to a message, don't be offended. The best way to contact me is still through this email. Thanks for the support on Facebook though, I really appreciate it!
But the next day was our real Zone Conference! Me and Äldste Beckman sat next to each other and we were supposed to not talk and that was like the hardest thing ever, but I got through it. Sorry just writing this makes me feel all excited cause I finally got to see him!
I also got to see Äldste Burns and Äldste Bjornn and that was also soooo fun to see them again! All the other missionaries thought that we were all crazy because we have so many inside jokes and everyone asked why we were doing grandpa voices and who Paul the Turtle was and everything, but thats just something that our MTC group will understand hahaha. Also quick side comment: On Monday, I got my phone out at the exact same time that Äldste Bjornn walked in and I may or may not have dropped my phone on some concrete because I was giving Äldste Bjornn such a big hug... No worries though, there wasn't any damage at all! (Well played Samsung, we'll see if you actually convert me though. Iphones for life.)
Zone Conference was awesome. I received lots of answers on how I can personally be a better missionary and we all got trained on how we can use the phones as a way to preach the gospel rather than get distracted by them! Super good stuff!
Our investigators are doing super super super well!! The one that read the Book of Mormon got mad at me and Äldste Hambrick this week saying "You didn't tell me that there was more!!" She was talking about the Doctrine and Covenants and she's starting reading that and is like 50 Sections in I think! She's unbelievable. She came to institute and church and we even talked about baptism! She told us that she has an urge to be baptized and she knows that this church is true!! There are just some problems because her family isn't the most supportive and also she is very very busy these next couple of weeks. But she's going to get baptized somewhat soon, I just know it!! It was so amazing because after we talked about how her family isn't supportive of it, she thanked us so much for being there for her and always supporting her and started tearing up and it hit me so hard that we as missionaries make such a difference in people's lives just by bringing a message of happiness. I know that missions change lives of the people where you serve, but I think that this mission has changed my life more than anyone else's. I've only been here in Sweden for like a month and I feel like these people have made such an impact on me already! I didn't realize how quickly I would develop the love I could feel for someone accepting the gospel and the devastation that you feel when someone rejects it. Even if it's someone that you have only talked to once! Its unbelievable honestly! I know that even though it's going to be tough for our investigator, I think she's going to get baptized and it seriously makes me so so so so happy! Like the happiest I've been ever!! It's so hard to explain! Every time I think about it, it just makes me smile! I don't know what I did to get so blessed with the opportunity to serve a mission but I'm so grateful! Anyways, sorry that this email is turning into a rant, but things are going good you could say!
Our other investigator is starting to get over her concerns and starting to see the blessings of the gospel! She told us that she started praying 'for reals' this week and that she has felt God's hand in her life so much stronger! We haven't had the opportunity to meet with her as much but I can tell the difference in her already - just from 2 visits! She explains the joy of being able to stand up for her religion here in Sweden (if you didn't know, Sweden isn't the most accepting of religion) and even though her friends make fun of her sometimes she has stuck up for what she believes in and that is so awesome! Oh man these people are so amazing! I'm so blessed! Sorry this email has turned into me just ranting.
Other things also happened this week!
-We took out a root for woman named Nilla in our ward
-taught some people over skype! That was awesome!
-we visited Stig again! His favorite phrase in English right now is "absorb, take it in". That old man seriously has my heart. Also he kind of took a selfie of us!
-I got to pet another dog, always a highlight
-We almost went to the Copenhagen Temple! We were going to go but then no one in the ward could give us a ride... (temples are awesome though. You should all go to the Jordan River Open House and say hi to my parents and my sister, theyr'e ushers)
-Oh, i tried contacting this guy on a bus and said "det är jätte upptagen idag" which means "it's very busy today" but then he started to do sign language so yeah. He was deaf and that was kinda awkward.
Overall it was a super good week!! Good luck to all those that are taking finals this week hehe. Also go enjoy the crazy good weather!
Also wanted to share one quick scripture: D&C 6 13-14
13 If thou wilt do good, yea, and hold out faithful to the end, thou shalt be saved in the kingdom of God, which is the greatest of all the gifts of God; for there is no gift greater than the gift of salvation.
14 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, blessed art thou for what thou hast done; for thou hast inquired of me, and behold, as often as thou hast inquired thou hast received instruction of my Spirit. If it had not been so, thou wouldst not have come to the place where thou art at this time.
