6th Mission Assignment - Rawson, Argentina

Elder Baldeon

International Artisan's Market, Marine Layers in the Desert, and the Work of the Lord

Hola a todos!

So this last P-day was really interesting for us because an international artisan's market came into town with knick-knacks from Chile, Columbia, Peru, Bolivia, and all over the continent. There were some pretty interesting stands between very sharp objects (pun intended, see picture), hand crafted musical instruments, coats, ponchos, sculptures and so on. It really took me back to Cordón del Plata over in Valle de Uco with the Bolivian merchants coming to town every weekend announcing their spices and weaves and so on...

In other news, I'd like to report a strange phenomenon! Marine layers - In the middle of the desert! Now that winter's on it's way, we've been pretty foggy in the mornings, and it burns off by about 12 in the afternoon. Then, in the evening it returns, usually around 9 in the evening... Weird right? One expects this sort of thing back home in Monterey, CA., U.S.A.

Anyways, more of the same going on... Companion exchanges with a Colombian companion (Elder Zuñiga) was a lot of fun. We've been really busy walking everywhere and teaching everybody but it's awesome. Argentina seems to have an unending supply of Missionaries. After all this time, I still love being a Missionary!

Looking forward to catching up with family on the Mother's day video call as well! Here's hoping you are having a great one!

Vaya Con Dios,

- Elder Bigley
