service projects, baptisms, jokes on the sisters, and lots more service
04/11/18 Good Morning! honestly hate how I can't ever remember what I did during the week, anyways it's been pretty darn good, it snowed hard on Saturday. And Tennessee maxed out at 34 degrees. I helped two different people move too, one of them being the day that it snowed.(in april.) It's honestly so beautiful here I can't describe it, my Spanish is a ton better. I'm pretty quick at conjugating now and basically have present tense down. So now I'm moving on to preterit. But I'm still learning verbs that I can use and common words Hispanics use!
We have found two families to teach and that's been great! And on Friday we ate at a member family's house, and they brought over their Catholic friend and her kids! So we watched the video on the restoration! That was really cool, oh yeah, that day that it was snowing and really cold, we didn't have the car. So we biked everywhere, anyways we were going down hill and it was so cold that the wind got into my ears and made me feel like I had a severe ear infection for two days, after we stopped biking my left ear was bleeding, and then like two days ago I gave myself a legit black eye in the bathroom of Kroger, because I went in to spit in the sink and the faucet had a long lever that I didn't pay attention to and hit the corner of my eye haha. I saved the best story for last. We switched cars with the sisters at the beginning of the transfer so right at the beginning we got the tires rotated and oil changed and then gave it to them, so like 2 days ago those sisters called us late at night saying that they got an email to get the oil changed if they didn't already. We told them we did. And then told them that we forgot to get the "blinker fluid" changed and that they would have to go and get that done, hee hee. They said "yeah, ok that sounds good" and hung up. They then later proceeded to question it, they called the zone leaders and asked if that was a thing, the ZL's said no. So they sisters called us again and said we were liars. So we had them call the white house elders, (because elder Jackson's dad is a mechanic) and elder Jackson, in full detail explained to them that it was real, haha so the sisters re believed it. And then the sisters proceeded to call AutoZone to see how much blinker fluid cost, and the AutoZone guy just laughed at them and told them it wasn't a thing ha ha hee hee they immediately called us back and were sooooo mad at us for embarrassing them!.

04/18/18 Que onda chamacos?!
This week was lots of hard work. But as a result of that, I'm happy to announce that our investigator Joel, Is going to be baptized on May 5th! He's such an awesome dude! We have been knocking a lot if doors and trying to find like crazy, the weather has been absolutely insane too. It snowed this week and was 40 degrees and the next day it was a sunny 70. Apparently Tennessee doesn't know what it wants !
This week we also did some service at the monthaven mansion. We cleaned a whole back room and got rid of a bunch of stuff and reorganized. This place was an actual mansion that was built in 1830, I honestly geeked out a little, all the doors still had old fashioned key holes, it had a bunch of places to put candles etc. And was a little run down so it was nice and dusty, but I got to see a lot of cool stuff, I'm not going to lie. I had the haunted mansion theme stuck in my head the entire time I was there.
To be honest I can't really remember what else I've done, we had a couple dinners with members, my Spanish is always improving, I honestly choose not to get frustrated with it, because you learn when you Learn yannow? Haha anyways if I remember anything else I'll write about it! Well have a fantastic semana.
Con Mucho Amor,
Elder Porter
