no water

It has not rained here in about a week, even when we most desperately needed it...yeah when we woke up to take a shower and we forgot to pay the water bill! We had to figure out if we should just carry shampoo with us, hoping it would rain, or decide that that is what our 72 hour kit water jugs were for.  It was sketch, but miraculously it got turned on after two days of no showers. I had my first zone conference this week, which was super cool because President Teh is in the first quorum of the seventy so all of our conferences are basically general conference.  He said that some people are out in the street just because of us, they don’t know that but the Lord is preparing them in that way.  We just need to open our mouths.

Also, our ward had this thing called a Mini mission on Saturday, which we basically did a whole day missionary work with the youth.  We got to the church and did studies with them, and we planned together. Then we went out and proselyted.  It was a little tough with 2 of us and 8 of them, but they were amazing!  They knew how to speak the language and were able to connect with the people.  One of the youth also mentioned that there was a member that lived right by where we were walking, so we were like hey let’s go.  The member was not there, but her non member daughter was there, and we were able to share a lesson and all the youth bore their testimonies. They are all going to be such good missionaries!  They all wore their lanyard name tags in their front pockets so they were legit.

Recently we have been really focusing on developing a relationship with the ward.  Like last night we went to the bishop’s home and had family home evening with them.  I remember the first thing the bishop ever said to me was, "Your Chinese if very weird.” haha He's not wrong! We drank barley tea and played some Taiwanese game that made no sense and gave a lesson on 2 Nephi 31:10:

10 And he said unto the children of men: Follow thou me. Wherefore, my beloved brethren, can we follow Jesus save we shall be willing to keep the commandments of the Father?

We talked about the phrase "Follow thou me" and how we can continue to follow Christ even after baptism, and how we need to be member missionaries. Follow Him!

Love ya'll
