The first few days in the MTC have been pretty good!! I am learning a lot and enjoying it. I have two great teachers that are doing a really good job teaching. It is pretty nice here right next to the mountains. Some of the food is good, but most of it is not that great. My companions name is Elder Thayne, he is from Ohio. We are getting along pretty good.
Our whole district is getting along really well, we are all getting to know each other, we have class together, and we eat meals together. The Sisters in our district and two Elders are going to Eugene Oregon, one Elder is going to Salt Lake City West, and the rest of us 5 Elders are all going to Las Vegas West. It has been in the high 90's here, so I'm getting prepared for 100 degree weather. My first P-Day is pretty nice, it hasn't been as busy.
Love, Elder Young

I'm glad to hear you're having a good time so far! Enjoy the MTC, because it'll go by quickly! Take lots of pictures so you can remember this in the years to come. Take care!

Hey Elder Young!
I loved getting your email. Thanks so much for the update! I’m glad that you’re learning a lot and enjoying it. I went to the MTC in England, so I don’t know what it’s like there in Provo.
I loved the MTC. It was a change for sure, but I had an awesome MTC companion, Elder Liam Stilgoe from Yorkshire, England. I could hardly understand him because of his accent, but we really got along with each other. I’ve stayed in contact with him over the years and my wife was able to meet him and his wife when we went to visit England a couple of years ago. It’s funny, we only spent like 2 weeks together, but he was one of my favorite companions.
The MTC is a great place to feel the Spirit and to learn how to teach by the Spirit. I’m grateful that you’re there and enjoying yourself. You’ve been a tremendous blessing to your family, the ward, and my family. Keep up the good work and I look forward to your updates!
Much love,
Matt Cox
