Easter Blitz

Hey people how are you? Another freakin' week went by, and it’s April! Man can you believe that? I can’t, and I can’t believe how far I have come. I think back to this time last year, and I couldn’t do any of what I can do now. I’m not saying I have this down, because I don’t! I’m still learning, even at my year-and-a-half mark. But I’m doing this and trying to improve and do my best.

I feel like I’ve changed a little bit too. When I say that, I mean that I’ve come to understand things a little more how it should be understood. So I’ve realized that.

Also I’ve realized that my confidence has plummeted down (okay a little), but it has gone down. The reason for it is because my companion (is great, and I love him) is the person that just loves to talk and talk and can teach really well. It’s nothing he has said to me, but it’s just me. I feel like I just sit there and try to say something and either my words don’t come out or don’t make sense. I only feel comfortable speaking around people I am pretty good friends with here and a lot of the ward members. I’m still trying and still wanting to be really good in Japanese. In most of my down time I’m studying or trying to talk to people. I just want to be fluent so bad. I’m trying so hard to be, but I feel like it’s not working. Okay I’m done rambling on about this. The only thing is I want to be fluent in Japanese. Okay so that’s what has been on my mind this whole week.

Okay now on to the other part of my week. So this week was filled with lessons and an Easter blitz. So that was fun. I also played a lot of ping pong and had to go to the police station so many times.

So to start out, I want to tell you about all of the lessons we had. The lessons were fun. I would rather teach than walk the streets for hours. So we made it a goal to at least teach one lesson a day. We have almost met that goal.

So that reminded me of a lesson we had last night. We had a member meal on Sunday and ate ribs ( which were so good) and then had a lesson after the meal . We talked a lot about hope. It reminded me of what I’ve been running off of my whole mission. While my companion was talking I was like, wow I’ve been running off that (hope) my whole mission. I also realized that’s how I have been able to get to where I am on my mission. I know in the paragraph above I just wrecked myself. I want to at least say, I do have hope. If I didn’t have hope, I wouldn’t be out here seeing if things would get better. If I didn’t have hope, I'd be a lot more miserable than I have been. But I do have hope that things will get better.

After that lesson we went home and I got to sleep and have some fun. I would like to tell you guys about the Easter blitz we did. So we made this poster and had four categories on it and a question. The question was, “What is Easter?” They could pick from four choices: family, bunny and eggs, Jesus Christ, and thankfulness. They could put stickers on their choice. It was fun. We also gave out English class flyers to people too.

Later we also made a few videos I will send out and a lot of pictures too. Other than, we had a lot of fun in the apartment. Right now I’m going to hike Mt.Takao so I will talk to guys later. Here are a bunch of pictures. And videos.

Love Elder Hatch 🐣

p.s.: It’s cherry blossom season so I will try to get some of those pictures for you guys.
