Choloma, Cortes, Honduras (Choloma Ward)

Elder DeLeón

Ya llegó el calor!

Hola cómo están todos?!!!! Ha sido una semana poco larga pero maciza. So let me just first say that Honduras in the Spring is hot, I mean like really hot. So far the month of April this year is turning out to be one of the hottest months since I have been here. For the last couple of weeks we have been around 42 or 43 degrees Celsius every day. That is like between 105 and 110 F. Of course we also have almost 100% humidity every day. The whole country is just a hot sticky mess. But I am loving it! We had our zone conference on Tuesday which was super awesome. We talked about our Missionary Purpose and about Family History which was super cool. It was a great reminder of what our true purpose is which is to: Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel. It was super cool and I enjoyed it. I have a pamphlet that I have filled out with pictures of my family that I can share with my investigators. It is a really cool way to teach the plan of salvation.

This week was the last week of the transfer and it was awesome. Today we found out that my companion, Elder De León is leaving the area and I will be staying. That's all that we know for right now but I'll be receiving a new companion and I'm anxious to know who it is! But it's going to be exciting.

The work is going well here in Choloma and we've been blessed with people to teach. I'm excited to teach the people of Honduras this week about the Restored Gospel of Christ. I know that God loves all of his children and he is preparing people to receive the gospel. I'm so grateful for Jesus Christ my Savior and Redeemer and His Mercy and Grace. This week I've been thinking a lot about the words of the hymn "I stand all amazed".

I stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me. Confused at the grace that so fully he proffers me. I tremble to know that for me he was crucified that for me a sinner he suffered he bled and died. Oh it is wonderful that he should care for me enough to die for me. Oh it is wonderful, wonderful to me.
As we approach Easter I hope we can all reflect on the love and mercy of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Love you all; thanks for your love and support. Have a great week!

Elder Ludlow
